Right then, sorry if I haven't replied as much as I should have, I have read all the posts and I do appreciate people taking time to help me out

I'm moving into a flat in Chapel Allerton with 5 others, I found it through an agency (flatsinleeds.com). Signed the papers yesterday, moving in tomorrow

Will hopefully see some of you around in Leeds once I've found my feet!

Nice one, thats about 2 mins down the road from me and a decent local nightlife. There's a few other PH'ers fairly local also.
Cars in the Park on Sunday too!!!

Looks like the Barwick site is going to be built by Apple Homes? Never heard of em and to be frank sounds like they intend to put up rabbit hutches! (A selection of 2,3 and 4 bed homes).

Righty ho, been living in Leeds for a week now (without net access, I'm at my parent's for the weekend), this big city stuff is a bit scary for a country boy like me. New job is fantastic and all the locals seem really friendly

It seems I told a little porky when I said I lived in Chapel Allerton - I actually live in Moortown just inside the ringroad.

Quick question - where are all the decent shops? The centre has the usual city centre shops (Next, WHSmiths, HMV, etc.) but most cities have their decent shops just away from the centre, where abouts are they in Leeds?

Oh - buses with leather seats -

define decent shops? if you go up the next road along there's topman, burtons and harvey nichols

however dont go to the white rose center is quite useless

If you are in Moortown then Street Lane Oakwood and Moortown Corner are your closest. There is also Chapel Allerton although the Bars and restaurants have taken a chunk out of the shopping. Further afield there is Headingley, and Horsforth in the north of the City. Specialists like Hi-Fi are in Headingley, Clothes tend to be around Street Lane. The sort of areas you are looking for have congregated in areas like the Victoria Quarter or The Corn Exchange and so are in the centre itself.
