Roads to the north are a bit pot holed and dirty from farm vehicles. Roads to the south are fine. It's often nice to visit the little dales villages to the north so you could drive the pass north and turn round to drive it south. That way you avoid the bad roads.

ButterTubs Pass is the link road between Hawes and Muker

we took some cars down there a few weeks ago, weather was awful, albolutley raining like hell. fantastic roads though.

however my mate got his capri sideways on the mountain pass and almost plunged down the ravine to meet a fiery end!!!

I would recommend taking a two minute detour whilst in the area to go and see Englands highest unbroken waterfall, Hardraw force, (Entrance, for a small fee, through the Green Dragon Inn at Hardraw) at the foot of the Hawes end of Buttertubs.....

Did the run last night,

Wow
wow
wow

This is the best road i have ever been on!

Magnificent!

Im still buzzing from the drive!

The roads a bit bumpy but still an awsome expiriance. i drove the road just before dusk so there was no one around for miles. stopped at the butter tubs waterfall for a bit but not too long as the sun had almost set.

You have to drive this road once in your life.

i now understand why JC loves this road!

The roads to the north of the pass are bad but the pass itself is good smooth tarmac. Plenty of undulation that could bottom out the unwary driver but the surface is fine.

Not recommended for one last blast in the Fezza then with its new nose job

Seconded re Hardraw Force, the pub's good too. Used to do a lot of mountain biking around that area, phenomenal scenery and tracks.

Sometimes I do miss living on the edge of the Dales.

Did the pass on Sunday, blooming gorgeous. Why is it though, that you go out not a car in sight, then when you get to the interesting bit, in a queue behind a caravan and a pastel, crawling at 30

Still got to enjoy the view though.

Must be quite exciting in a snake of TVRs
