Couldn't work out if I liked it or not.

Any suggestions on alternative motors people? (Don't fancy a Lotus btw).

Funny - I felt the same. I ended up with an M Coupe and while not as sharp in the handling stakes out the box it is just as quick on a track.

Try one, you might be surprised.

Few for sale here

Thought about a Caterham...?

I want something I can use on the Motorway as well as weekend blasts, so a Caterwest is off my shopping list.

BTW Bob, totally O/T, but driving back from Skipton over the Moors, you missed the idiot in a blue repmobile who tried (and very nearly succeeded) to kill me.
It was just before the narrow twisty section with the drop off to the left. On the long straight.
You overtook the car, I was several hundered yards back. I caught upto the said Muppet, who was behind a van. I looked past the van and saw there was no cars for 500 yards plus, started to get into the overtake position, when I saw that the car in front was doing the sanme, so I dropped back and waited for him to overtake. He duly did the overtaking thing, albeit fairy slowing, so I waited for him to get just in front of the van before I commited to the overtake.
As I picked up speed and caught the car up, he looked in his mirror and slowed down to a point where he was almost matching the speed of the van.
So there I was, stuck on the wrong side of the road, van to the left, and tw@t mobile still on the wrong side of the road in front of me.
Anyone care to guess what happened next! Yes, that's right, traffic coming the other way, in the form of a Carl Foggarty wannabe on a sports bike, suddenly appearing over a creat of a hill, still several hundered yards away, but doing 100plus
To cut a long story short, Mr death wish eventually pulls in, (right in front of the van btw) and I switch into Kamikazi mode and mash the loud pedel into the Axminster.
Managed to get past and still have time to sellotape the horn button down
Al was behind me, so he would have got a good view of all this. Was hoping that the offending gentleman was going to drive right into Harrogate. I was going to stop near him and give him a few suggestions as to how he might want to drive in the future.

Loads of Scary stuff

He tried to close the gap on me however I think he realised I was overtaking too late to do anything about it I think i got past the van at the same time too.

I wondered why you guys dropped back so much, especially with such good visibility down the road. That biker was on it too - I remember he was well up on the rev range as he went past me.

Pleased it all turned out Ok in t end though. Just think that you will have as much if not more acceleration in the new beastie

Update:
The currently plan is to swap the Chim for a 53 plate 220 VX Turbo, subject to me having a satisfactory test drive and a quick once over. They delay was down to that fact the the garage wanted me to MOT the CHim 1st.
It passed this morning, with nothing needing doing.
I'm going to have a look, (for the 1st time) at the VX tomorrow. Considering that I'm looking to change to get substantially reduced running costs and improved reliability, its a bit worrying that the hold up now is the fact that the car is in the workshop awaiting a new part for the Turbo, (the car has done a whopping 375 miles)!

Anyone up for a Microhoon?

Forgot to add, it will be spending its first night of my ownership outside on the street in Leeds
Rich, switch beats from York to Leeds ASAP!
