Still not had a good look at one or heard one giving it beans so will be pestering you for some up-close blippage in the paddock

Dave

Dave,
I intend to be trying hard on Sunday! Your more than welcome to have a good look around the car and hear her at full chat.

Cheers
John

Good stuff, will take the video camera and record lots of runs up then... get them hosted/uploaded somewhere!

Dave

If you get a good in car video let me know and I will put it on the Harewood website (provided the file size isn't too big) or just link to it. We have a couple on there already - take a look at www.harewoodhill.co.uk and click on the gallery.

I may not be correct in this, but I think officially you have to get permission from the Clerk of the Course - ask around in the paddock, or even in the paddock office, I am sure someone will clarify the situation. I know I have seen quite a few cars with cameras mounted, and the videos on the site show it obviously happens!

Doh, the person at work who's camera I borrow is not in today... away ill.

So no go on me having any filming gear. I could borrow works but I'm not sure they'll let me take a £2k camera for the weekend as they are not insured and they are a bit too big for a mount being a few kg's

Doh! just my luck!

There has been an accident on the A659 between harewood house A61 and East Keswick that has shut the road past Harewood Hill! Plus all the traffic going to the concerts tonight. Wonder how We'll get on going tonight?

It's a bad bit of road on there really, could do with being dual carriageway and flat, by-passing down to the bridge at the bottom of the bank with a big roundabout onto the Pool/Otley road.

Ah I'm dreaming again, sorry

Pretty sure it'll be tidied up now and open, if not then you still get access if you need to go to an destination within the closed section.

Aye, nice to meet you Daftlad, and have a quick look at that lovely Sagaris. Really is a shape that can only be appreciated in the skin!

Had to leave a little earlier so didn't see all the 2nd runs, was a shame that Audi TT esque race car went off on it's 1st run, it seemed pretty mental out on the tarmac!

Think I spotted Lord Summerisle (ZZ Top) down at the very very bottom of the circuit. What a walk down there

Have a small video of the Griff and Saggy going by down there so will upload it later on.

Well, just got home. Great weekend, with a spectacular light show from the lightning on the M62

Friday - Road was blocked between the A61 Harewood House & East Keswick. Police advised me to go wait in the put in the village and they'd let us know when the road was open.

Was down on the Esses (Chippys) both days - so at least we had a bit of shade down there - een if theose bloomin' driers kept hitting the Flacker posts! (one pug 205 broke his headlight wacking em today.

Records where falling - Martin Groves pulled a hillrecord on Saturday during practice, Simon broke a driveshaft of his TT on every run! went home to get his remaining driveshafts for the Sunday...

Then the Hillrecord went during the 1st run off (the welcome rain helping cool the air, but not the track) the old 49.84 down to 49.19 by Scott Moran, Martin got new class record, new ladies hill record, and several other classes had new hill records.

Saw a Seven in the car park at the back with a PH sticker on it... and Lady S saw someone wearing a PH Tee sat watching near the crusty pie company.

Came over to hae a look at the Sagaris at lunch, but didnt see you Daft, didnt have long, was rushing to get my dinner with us not having long after the slow morning with all the stoppages.

Slowly!!

You can say that again.
3 hours and 40 minutes from the Tontine to Harewood. An hour and a half getting out of the car park, parked 200m from exit.
One guy in a minibus had travelled from near side of York -- 2 1/2 hours!

That'll be me, i try not to stray too far from the food. 'Twas a really good day out, and brought 4 other TVR's down and a 944 Turbo. May try and come down again for the TVR's in August too.

Nice to meet Satch and Daftlad

Aye, was parked right infront of that, so had a good long look around when I went back to the car for some dinner! I *think* it was at the Harewood classic car show a few weeks earlier with another RS200 as well.

Were quite a few nice cars about in the car park. Was funny as I was sat there with aircon on having dinner and windows down and loads of people were gawping at the RS200 and saying things. One bloke said proudly to other onlookers "it's a real GT car for the road"... ??
Ummmm, the reality of this car still seems to escape so many, which is a shame for Ford and the demise of the group B's which just isn't even recognised today. Makes you realise why rallying just isn't as interesting to Joe Public these days!

Apparently the RS200 'c200f' is owned by a John Hoyle of North Yorkshire, need to get him a PH sticker!!! The car was origionally built for someone in Texas that died before it was sent, unlucky guy.

Anyone know how fast the Golf Gti managed to get up there?

I think it was on road tyres, but it was fairly shifting for what it is! Was pretty impressed by it's turn of speed up the hill!

VW Golf did a 69.83 run, it was quick for a production car but sounded as interesting as the Le Mans Audi's..., That Audi quatro however sounded amazing
