Yes I too was pulled by this Golf on the A65. 83 in a 60 but thankfully the Plod let me off with a £30 fine for the race can as this was why he noticed me and said I could have been doing a lot more.
I wish I had your copper rather than my miserable buggers, might have got off too.

It does seem that there is a huge amount of discrepancy between what gets handed out even on the same bit of road for the same offence. I could accept it if I was cruising at 80+ on a NSL road, but for an over take it seems like taking the piss to me.

I didn't even get lectured about the dangers of speeding or anything else, just a fast as you like process to hand out a ticket and get back to the next victim. It makes me so angry that I don't feel that I have learned anything, it won't stop me over taking, I am still going to pay attention to where I am going rather than the speedo.

No deterent just another punter feeling that they are reveniew generating or worse still picking on a certain group because they can.

There's a spanking new 10 plate dark blue/black Volvo estate running out of Keighley - distinguishable by four large vertical aerials atop the roof and a shoddy looking extra passenger wing mirror shabbily bolted to the a-pillar.

I think I spotted this car this morning on the dual carriageway from Keighley to Silsden - YJ10 ACY, he'd pulled over someone in a TVR.

There is one like this near Garforth/SE Leeds too. Saw it in the Sainsburys filling station, and had it follow me down a 50mph stretch at 60mph hehe

Silver V70 around Cleckheckmondsedge.

Can see the bumper lights and lights in the back window, no roof bars, extra mirror.

Most WY unmarked V70's have similar fixings (and notably, the roof bars not being present)

Yeah, that was me. Great way to get a spotted rolleyes

To paraphrase he pulled me for driving aggressively. I came off the roundabout at Keighley at a fair old lick and ended up getting close up behind a car in the outside lane who hadn't moved over quickly enough. I was being a bit naughty and the car I was up close to had just finished overtaking this Volvo at the time. Chap pulled over, I gunned it past followed by a pair of blue lights. I got away with a bking. The chap was polite enough, if a tad on the condescending "I'll not have you killing someone on my roads" kind of way.

I guess if I was in a bland car he'd have taken no notice, but roof down, decelerating with lots of pops'n'bangs, followed by me dropping a cog and going a little past 70 didn't really come across as subtle.

He also pointed out my number plate for illegal spacing - as luck would have it it's the first time the car's been out for a while and I was taking it up to Track V Road for it's pre-LM service & MOT where they were to put another set of plates on anyway. I'll bet he thought that was a likely story!

All in all, a rather embarrassing experience.

If they're his roads, perhaps you could have asked him why he's let them get into such an appalling state! On the other hand, perhaps not hehe

Saw one of these parked outside Scarborough Plod Shop on Sunday - looked odd as its not a normal CID car, nor a patrol car. Not a car you would normally be looking for - which could be why they have just got them.

1 X Blue R32 (highly modified - lowered, big exhaust, chipped). Meant to patrol round the dales area. 56 Plate. (newly purchased).
Never in a million years is that a police vehicle
According to a very good friend of mine who is in that line of work it is.

The OB used to have a grey golf GTI, tinted windows, big wheels looked a bit kev and tracy ish the only think that gave it away was the little blues and twos in the grill and the fact its occupatns where obviously OB. Again it was patroling around the dales area. I suspect this is the car they have replaced with the R32.

North Yorkshire have acquired a large number of marked and unmarked 5 series in the last six months. The unmarked ones seem to be 10 plate saloons and the marked ones are 59 plate tourers - from what I have seen around.
Plus the Volvo C30's of course.

I did my Bikesafe today at Thirsk Police station, and there were quite a few undercover cars parked up. The most surprising though was the MG Saloon ZT (?) (Rover 75) in Burgundy Metallic with a private plate!

Only if that person has a full set of comms & blue lights behind the grill ;-)

Lots of metallic grey/silver 5 series estates round doncaster, also two heavily modded evo's, at least i get that impression from the exhaust noise. Strangely, usually driven by wpc's.
