There's a number of white Vectras, usually on or around the Bingley by-pass, copping people with the aid of the 'trick' 50mph speed limit that exists on that stretch of road. Two of the Vectras are the type with the sloping back (ie, not boot) with the reg nos YK06FXV and YA04XAP and I think there's a third sloping back one and an estate too. They all have a bodykit and loads of ariels on the roof and when I see them they're usually driving like tossers... ironically.
Yeah, seen them Ahh, that 50 mph limit....what's all that about Then ??
( like i don't know )
The rule is do not enter that zone at more than 60mph showing on the clock. But to be fair its a twisty section and I wouldn't want to slam into those retaining walls on a bike or in a car for that matter, but you can open it up quite nicely afterwards!
I actually don't mind them patroling the bypass at the danger points as there are some real "fast and furious" wannabes around with lots of balls but zero skill.

TWO UNMARKED POLICE CARS IN MOTORWAY CRASH
Two vehicles involved in a crash which left four children injured were unmarked police cars, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said today.
The IPCC said the South Yorkshire Police cars - a black BMW and a Seat Leon Cupra - were in collision with a Seat Alhambra people carrier on the M1 northbound, near Sheffield.
The commission said the police cars were not involved in a pursuit at the time.
Police have said there were six vehicles involved in the incident in total, with some hitting the debris from the initial impacts.
Four children and a woman in the Alhambra were taken to local hospitals.
The most seriously hurt was an 11-year-old boy who suffered serious head injuries who was being treated at Leeds General Infirmary.
The IPCC said the woman driver of the Alhambra had a serious arm injury and was undergoing surgery while one of the other children suffered a broken leg and internal injuries.
The two police drivers had minor injuries, the commission said. South Yorkshire Police said none of those injured were thought to be in a life-threatening condition.
The IPCC has sent investigators to the scene and an independent investigation will be conducted.
IPCC Commissioner Nicholas Long said: “My thoughts are with the injured people and I hope they make a quick and full recovery.
“We will be conducting a rigorous investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and our investigators have been on scene securing evidence since the early hours of this morning.
“I can say that this incident was not the result of a pursuit.”
The accident happened at about 12.30am today.
It closed the motorway between junction 33 at Catcliffe and junction 34 at Meadowhall.
Later, a second accident at junction 33 at 7am left one person dead.
The person who died has not been named and police are expected to release more details later.
The two accidents are not thought to be linked.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “One accident happened in the early hours and one happened at 7am this morning.
“We could not say if they are connected until a collision investigation has taken place but at this point we don’t think so.”
The two incidents have caused widespread traffic disruption on the motorway network in South Yorkshire.

Spotted on the A65 between Skipton and Settle on Sunday
Metallic grey mk 5 Golf GTI.
Didn't get the number plate, but it was 07.
He'd pulled over a bike and a Grinnal scorpion (i think).
Keep an eye out People
Not sure if it was the exact same car but same colour on the same road the bds got me 7.30 Sunday evening. They were sat near Gargrave at the bottom of the crawler lane facing up the hill waiting for people to over take on the downhill section. Right pair of miserable tax inspectors, not prepared to discuss just follow procedure and issue fines. Metallic grey mk 5 Golf GTI.

Even stated that they go for people like me who have been sat behind numpties at 40 mph for hours and then surprise surprise use the long straight wide bit with loads of visibility to over take said numpties.
Such a frustrating road, it's almost as if they added all the extra solid white lines to create more opportunities to catch people at the rare places you can overtake legally and safely.
They love to hang out on the Settle bypass for the same reason I guess, that's if they aren't protecting a tiny village with 3 houses near the road from the peril of someone going through at 35mph.
Sorry, I'm bitter, I got caught on the A65 too

Just the same circumstances as the post above. About 7pm on a Sunday evening when the chance to finally get past the dawdlers arose....
But, around the next corner, there he is, standing with his speed gun pointing at me...
It was a fair cop, I suppose.....
