East Yorks pub meet - 1st Thursday of the month
Discussion
There won't be a meeting tonight (bit late I know) but as anybody that lives in the area will know the Triton Inn has had a fire (nobody hurt thankfully) and sadly (Simon informs me) that means it is closed until Easter at the earliest.
We need a temporary venue until the Triton Inn re-opens so this thread will be open to suggestions of a pub in the local area to host this meeting until then.
Sand Piper is the obvious choice (I know its ping food rather than proper home cooked food) for a couple of months whilst the Triton Inn is re-furbished. I don’t think the Half Moon in Elloughton or the Green Dragon in Melton have big enough car parks just encase (though we have been devoid of numbers recently).
Open to the floor then

Has anyone heard anything about The Triton? I know someone posted up about the renovations hopefully being completed by Easter weekend, but I can't find anything else about it on the web (except for the initial fire).
I had a look the other day and came to the same end with the search that you did, I can't find anything about it being re-opened, might stop by tomorrow on the way home from work and see if there is any progress being made.PanzerCommander said:

Just you be careful in that car of yours, those roads are narrow and trees close..... PHOENIXUK said:

In fact some of the Tarps over the roof have partially blown off and have not been replaced for nearly a week.
I'm still up for keeping these meets going, admit to being a bit preoccupied for the last few months, so not been posting and the weathers been pants.
Unfortunately I cant make it this Monday either, were-ever.
Cheers,
Simon.

The meeting is still at the temporary meeting place as the Triton Inn is still closed (seems some form of work might have started though)

Is there anybody wanting to go to this this month, we used to get 15+ people at this meeting back in 2008 when I first started attending, it seems to have fallen apart over the last 12 months.
