Papa Hotel said: As it happens, I saw that. Well, not the rape itself, but the victim and the scene. I lived on Balfour Place (off Balfour St) and came stumbling home from the pub just after the police got there. Was a little confused why they were asking me to walk in the road rather than the pavement, but then I saw the tape around two storage containers that builders had been using - she'd been done over in the gap between them

Just been for supper in Stockbridge and we're pretty sure that's where we'll get a flat Hamiltons bar in Stock bridge is really nice. This thursday we have the Edinlush down at Leith Shore. A pub called the Granary. Come and introduce yourself and have a pint or two. Just look out for the group with a man in a wheelchair. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=leith&ll=55.97...There is already a thread running about it here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Welcome! If you get a place in St Stephen's street you'll be hearing me every Thursday evening when my 147 GTA trundles down to the dance school to pick up the missus.... It's not that loud! For a cheap apartment to rent for a couple of week I recommend Western Harbour.. I have a 2 bed flat here on the coast and apart from the winds it's pretty sweet.

I've got something on this Thursday night but will definitely come to to the next Edinlush. Appreciate the invite. V6GTA said: Welcome! I still miss mine. What colour is yours?

So, 3 weeks in and all good so far. Went for the Stockbridge flat and glad we did. Walking to work in 15 minutes is great, loads of bars/restaurants locally should we fancy going out. Only problem is parking. Oh, and it's bloody cold up here Oh, and I got food poisoning on Sunday night from a restaurant that rhymes with Muffalo Brill.

The summer weather is just around the corner. We should be basking in the mid to high 20s reasonably soon.
I would suggest investing in a water proof summer jacket though just to be on the safe side.

Avoid the touristy places in August and then resume your sightseeing in September. Going out for a drink and taking in a comedy show or two when the festival is on is a must though.

It's slightly warmer this week It was our 2nd anniversary yesterday so we went out for dinner to Angels With Bagpipes. Very, very nice food only tarnished by a slightly inattentive waiter. I had: HAGGIS, kohlrabi, potato, mushroom, whisky sauce - 10/10 - only the 2nd time I've had haggis and it was beautiful. CHICKEN, corn fed, wild garlic, mushroom, bread sauce - 10/10 - I played it a bit safe with this but again it was delicious. Mrs A had: AwB CULLEN SKINK, warm, smoked haddock, mull cheddar toasts - 10/10 COD, roasted, cauliflower puree, almond, raisin, coriander, parmesan - 10/10 Staying in tonight as we need to rein the eating out, in. But tomorrow is my birthday so we'll be trying somewhere else, but probably in Stockbridge. Oh, and we've brought the MCS up now so if you see 6'4" man looking ridiculous in a black Mini, be sure to toot!

If you like a nice steak, try the Buffalo Grill in Stockbridge - BYOB which makes it a reasonable deal.
