Folks I'm off to Edinburgh during the summer with the wife and son for a few days, he's 11 and a good kid. He loves doing 'grown up' type things with us when he can, going to Pizza Express on a Saturday evening is like him going to a posh restaurant lol

Anyway I'd like to book somewhere nice to eat in Edinburgh for us to go to, something along the restaurant as opposed to pub line, although a nice gastro pub would do. Naturally it has to be child friendly. Can anyone recommend anything please?

Also I know there's a Hard Rock Cafe also, I have looked on their site might have missed it but is it child friendly there to book a table to eat their another night also? EDIT saw on trip advisor that hard rock is child friendly.

Just be a treat for him to go for a nice meal with us somewhere a bit more grown up than a wacky warehouse or burger king lol.

Thanks in advance

There's also TGI Fridays?

Pretty child friendly.

Filling Station?

Not been to either in years, so unaware if they're good now.

La favorit does the best Pizza, wood fire ect, not you usual rubbish & a nice place as well.

Vitoria on Gorge 1V bridge good as well.

Hard rock city centre & very child frendly, not sofisticated but load music ect. dont think you can book table, but if you call before they will put you on VIP list.

Filling station in rose st & high St simmilar to hard rock, fancy burger & ribs.

As said nearly all resturants will be child feendly, us scots like our resturants for foos & pubs for drink, not ot keen when pubs sell food.

Quite a few Italian places are more than willing to take your kids into the kitchen to make their own pizza. Giulianos on the Shore being one.

Numerous excellent Chinese buffet's... nothing keeps a 5yr old happier than a plate of rice, chicken nuggets and apple. His choice, not mine I hasten to add.
