A few years back I did a 'sports car line up' at the Shieldaig fete:  The chap organising the Gairloch Gathering Saturday 30th June is looking to do a similar. You'll only need to be there for a couple of hours. So far he has my R8, a 2012 GT-R, a couple of porkers, an Alfa and an AMG. If you're interested in a run out that way on said day - the more exotic the car, the better of course, just bung your name down here and I'll add details when I get them. He's just trying to get an idea of numbers - which will determine where we would park up. TIA

Would make a good weekend run. Scottish Elises / Jock 7s did a weekend up there a couple years back unintentionally coinciding with the gathering. I thought it made a good weekend, run up & banter with other petrol heads & ceillidh / boozing on the Saturday night.
Will try to head up again this year work permitting.

Hello all:
This popped up on "google alerts", so as organiser and occasional Pistonheads lurker - but never a contributor - I decided to sign up! The Gathering is our local Highland Games - We are looking for vintage / classic / modern / super or not super..."Interesting" would cover just about everything! We had about 30 vehicles last year from a 30's Morris to a 00's Porsche, and the more the merrier. If you are not sure about coming over, and waiting to see what the weather is like, then we usually meet up at Gairloch Pier about 9.30am and drive through the village - if you arrive later, that's ok, but try calling me on 07787 910309 to let us know you are coming.....failing that, tell the folk at the entrance you're with "the cars". There's an evening dance with "Skerryvore" and plenty accomodation in the area. And hopefully, sunshine!

We're getting more and more optimistic about the weather as we go......a couple more vehicles "booked in" now, so looking like a good mix in the line up.... A Cobra would a be a goodie! I'm also going to have to try and persuade our local TVR Tuscan out of its garage if possible - supposedly one of the last half dozen TVR's built by TVR.

Sorry guys obviously geoghraphy was not my strong point would have liked to come but unfortunately bit far to travel in one day will look to next year and come up on the Friday and stay overnight sorry guys

Would that be a certain hotel owner? We had the Highland Hoon lot up there for lunch a few years ago. Was good enough to have it sitting outside for us... even though it was chucking it down!!

Impressed at all the responses to this one! Yes, the TVR is Sean's pride and joy, lives at the Myrtle Bank Hotel. So, details......
(I've just part-copied the text below from an email I was going to send out to folk - so if you eventually get to read this twice.. my apologies.)
First of all, it’s not specifically a car show – it’s a Highland Games! Entertainment all day, bar / refreshments / stalls – and a dance with “Skerryvore” at night until late (being a Saturday, this will mean the tent closes at midnight) . It’s on a large campsite called “Sands” that faces out to Skye, and has lots of accomodation space + statics etc.
Last year, we had 1930’s Morris / Austins, to a 2001 Porsche. This year, we have an even more varied mix, and have interest from the aforementioned 30’s cars through Triumph Dolomite/Ford Escort onto more current machinery such as Audi R8 / Nissan GTR - some of whom I'm sure you'll know.
We meet up at Gairloch Pier at 9.30am to leave there around 10pm and drive through Gairloch to the Gathering – about 4 miles. BUT if you are after that, don’t worry – my contact details are at the end of this message if you need any help or want to contact me later. (If I have a decent signal!) Or just appear.
Weather last year was fantastic – if it’s wet, we’re realistic.....we don’t expect many to turn up. But the weather here has been as dry as a bone now for a whole month - can it continue just a wee bit longer? Note: If you are with a car – entry to the Gathering itself is FOC, but you are on your own for “Skerryvore” tickets – and they WILL sell out. The Gathering has website / facebook pages for info.
Because we are a wee place in Wester Ross, it would be really useful if we knew how many were coming: So if you can email douglasg@burach.org.uk that would be good...but if not, we'll survive. Email is preferable, since the mobile doesn't always work here - and I'm unfortunately away during the 27th / 28th anyway!

I have just sent out an email to the addresses I have with up to date details about the "Gathering" , including the fact that although the forecast for the week is only average, Saturday 30th is actually very good! And I'm still trying to persuade Sean at the Myrtle Bank hotel to release the Tuscan for the day..............
