No issues with AW autotech here either, Elise usually goes there for its MOT, and despite turning up late, they did their best to try and get a pass for it in May. Though most other work I run it out to JD in insch.

justin220 said: Wish I'd seen this thread last week. Dropped the wife's Mini Cooper off there this week for an MOT Let us know how it goes, could you? I'd not seen anything bad about them, and have had my old C-Class in there twice now (once for a routine service, once for suspension wear-and-tear) and I've got no complaints. It's due another service soon, and I was just intending to take it there again.

GF seemed happy and said she'd go back

Thumbs up from me for AW Autotech.. Always good service, and I've turned up a couple of times with a 'I can't get this thing off' car part, and they disappeared into the back and sorted it for me FoC.
Treats the shed well also whenever its there (admittedly not for much).

just my 2 pence. What's AW auto techs hourly labour rate? £40-50?

Just to bump this, I need to get the rear wheel bearing done on my car fairly soon, and BAW have given me the best price out of all the garages in Aberdeen. John Clarke wanted over £100 more, and Premier Motors wanted £50 more. Now, the local specialist back in Inverness would have done it for even less than BAW which is annoying, but I am not going to be back home any time soon. Does anyone have any other recommendations of places to try now that AW Autotech are shut due to the fire? Reading through this thread, I don't fancy taking it to BAW. JD Motors is too far out for me, but if it really comes to it I suppose I could wait for a couple of hours while they do it. Cheers

Which specialist did you use in Inverness?

He used to be the workshop manager for JC BMW. Great guy, started on his own about a year ago. Got a wee garage on the Hardgate. Many of my friends, family and colleagues use him as he's very reasonably priced but really knows his stuff. His mobile is 07436 263437. Tell him David with the X5 gave you the number.

Which specialist did you use in Inverness? Jimmy Cruikshank - was recommended on here and has been fantastic. He has done all of the work on my car so far and done a great job, and fantastic prices too. Apparently it is a pig of a job - driveshaft has to come out and since it is on the passenger side the guy at Premier Motors said the exhaust may have to be dropped too. Scanning through threads on here, BAW don't seem to have the best reputation!

None better (or more honest) in the north of Scotland! Used to take my M5 there and then my wife's Mini.

He is fantastic, but I won't be back in Inverness for quite a while so need to get the bearing sorted here in Aberdeen ideally. Meant to be doing a few trips down towards Fife over the next month, so I don't fancy waiting too long.

I drive past there daily and thought it was vacant!
