Sorry to hear about the Fraser65. I don't think your wife was foolish in not getting the details. I guess it all happened so fast and you just don't think about that at the time. I asked my gf no the off chance that she got the reg but she said it was going so fast there was no chance. Like you say, at least everyone is fine.

It's typical that you end up out of pocket because of someone else. If you have the will to push the police, insurance and possibly use the media then you might get somewhere with a loan car.

For clarity, Fraser was being sarcastic...

Celtic footballer Kris Commons had both his cars stolen after thieves ransacked his house and stole the keys.

So its not just an Aberdeen problem!

A black Audi S4 was stolen last night in inverurie.

I only know this because my mate woke to find his garage door open and an attempt made to get into the house, they found success two doors down though.

People are making it oo easy for these tw@ts.

The Mrs was informed by plod last week that the majority of stolen cars in the Aberdeen area are recoverd unmarked and that the use of social networking sites & forums is more likely to lead to the car being trashed.

A friend also had a Porsche turn up in their unused lockup about 6 months ago

So plod says don't tell anyone your car has been nicked

A cynical person would say it is also a good way to keep bad press under cover

So police Scotland instead don't tell any1 and just try to keep the silent approach instead of warning people a crime syndicate may be operating

But in a weird way yes if the car thief sees posts in Facebook Twitter it's more of a game for them.

... but compare that to Jed Duncan's last conviction. 200 hours community service for a car theft which ended up with dangerous driving (down a pavement) and a crash into a parked car.
I noticed in the P&J last week that the above had been sentenced to a 8 months (I think) for more of the same.
