The stolen Lambo.

X5 has been returned too.

His comments (from FB)
[quote]Just spent the week getting our lives back together after a burglary at the new house. The thieves stole Mabelle's X5 and my Lambo and also the keys to my Aston. Had to get the Aston taken to Edinburgh in order to have the keys recoded.

We got the X5 back today - it seems to be OK except the little bds managed to kerb more wheels than my wife

They went down to the cinema room and ignored a bunch of top spec audio and video equipment, instead choosing to steal a cheap monitor that I was using to set up the amp. F**ing dimwits!

They also went up to the first bedroom floor and stole things from my office, which means they were right next to the baby's room. I have no way of telling if they were in there. We were asleep on the top floor until they started the Lambo and (being unable to drive it) woke the whole neighborhood. He lasted 5 minutes until he decided to put the foot down and obviously didn't have a clue how to drive a performance car so he ploughed into the nearest van and turned it over (the results are in the picture).

We had to cancel all our cards and get new driving license and ID for Mabelle as her purse was stolen. Other than that, we are just missing some cash, a couple of ipad/iPhones, my camera and a few other things.

Could have been worse I suppose...

Cowboyecosse, what do you think of the Mobius? After lots of research I think I might buy one of them, used to have a DR32 which was good, but it died!

How easy is the Mobius to set up without obviously it having a screen?

Horrible thing to happen.

The young lads doing this look for easy targets.

Leaving the doors open over night and all keys in an obvious place make it too easy for them.

Also what parents have their young baby on one level of a house and themselves on another?

What makes you think the doors and windows were open?

I was researching for ages before I bought it. I'm thinking of buying another mobius for the back window now. The picture's excellent and if you can edit a text file you can set it up really easily. There's a guy on youtube (techmoan) does reviews of dashcams and his presentation style is brilliant.

I have some footage from my cam on youtube (which strips quality from the video - it's better than this) if you want some examples, or PM me and I can email you some boring original clips in different conditions etc. smile

Cheers for that, yeah I watch all Techmoans stuff and the appealing thing to me about the Mobius is that it is a year old and seems to have been getting evolved with software updates etc over that time.

Manu of the new camera like the 0803, the feedback seems to be total hit or miss as to whether the thing actually works out the packaging or not!

I think there are also links online somewhere to a user interface that you can install on your PC , connect the Mobius and actually change all the default settings that way, rather than the "press this button twice, wait for this light to blink etc".

Will have a look at your youtube clip when home - last year I bought a DR32 for £60 but it died after 11 months. However the main point at that time was to use it to film clips of a road trip through USA and it was perfect for that, giving me memories of driving down to Hoover Dam, driving down Vegas Boulevard, seeing a Veyron and Carrera GT in LA etc.

Still find it madness that people don't have alarms in their house.

Large canine protective of it's own family is a good answer.
Do the same laws prevail if a leg is torn off an intruder?

So 8 months for dangerous driving.

Presumably the TWOC, break & entry, no insurance, evading arrest, criminal damage, speeding and other associated charges (that we assume he could have been booked with) were bargained out of the procedure in order to get him to plead guilty to a (relatively minor) charge?

Maybe risk v costs, suburbia semi, average car on drive, house and contents insured verses posh house, with a few hot cars outside, Aston, Lamborghini, maybe a top of the range Range Rover.

Surely you can't put a cost on your safety though?

Of course you can't, but I will not be forced to do something I don't think I have to do just to prevent some scumbags breaking in.

I don't quite get what you are trying to say here. Are you saying you won't have an alarm fitted as a matter of principle?

I am just saying I don't see the need for one. As always, each to their own, hope you have one.

I was still kind of waiting on a response on what this dig was for.

You've been on the forum but not responded to the question.

My guess is that it was a reaction to this ...

I uttered similar when I read it.

No dig, merely an observation, I saw no point in trolling anything so just let it lie... as Kiltie says I found it surprising that you didn't think your comment warranted a response?
