What do they expect to do with the car? Sell it? Would be interesting to "enquire about buying it". Turn up in a Transit Van. Maybe containing 12 or so powerfully built PH'ers?

I'm assuming the car didn't have a tracker fitted?

Ryan's got a profile on Facebook, publicly bragging about pleading guilty to a motorcycle theft and avoiding prison in exchange for a community payback order. If they are the brothers who are the Garthdee thingy, well the police should be able to find them easily if they're in the system for priors.

If it was me I would be going into every petrol station with a flyer, they must be going through a fair bit of fuel, if they can't get fuel they can't carry on. Maybe then the plod could actually do something, like get off their arses.

Update: 31/7/12 8am
car has been recovered, condition unknown.
To the above posters, I to spoke to everyone I could - taxi drivers, petrol stations, shops etc.
Its hard for me to put my true feelings in writing, as they have been to my address, and I don't know theirs...
However I do know from my own research that at least one of those posted above is already in prison from previous offences.
My car will now be off to forensics for a few days, then off to be assessed for damage. I will then decide what I want to do with the car, as it was my ideal spec that I spent months looking for, and i dont really want to be bullied or intimadated out of it, but also dont want to put myslef and family at further possible risk.
But until the condition is assessed, who knows. The classy individuals involved in this type of thing have been known to drive around putting cigarettes out on dashboards/headlinings / seats so will have to wait for insurance assessments.
Its a wake up call - I thought aberdeen was a relatively nice city, but my amateur sleuthing and driving around has really opened my eyes.

to Haggis et all above, what generally happens is they drive in then fill up then dirve off without paying - i knew it only had 80 miles of fuel in it (ie £20 ffs) so i did go round a lot of the petrol stations with a note to warn them And the police have been very very good - i randomly spoke to two differnet officers in different areas, and both knew with out prompting the full details of the car (and me) before I told them. You have to remember that due to resources, there are only so many cars driving about, and most of the time i imagine the stolen car is hidden during normal peoples hours (ie law abiding go-to-workers) so the chance of seeing it pinging about are slim. Then when it is spotted, if it is being driven at high speed, Grampian police have a no pursuit policy due to the risk to the public - now while it is not nice to think the cops cant 'chase' them, I'd rather lose the car than have it knock over a bunch of kids playing in the street. (although that point of view was wavering in my darker hours) Unfortunately the police have a burden of proof and need a chain of evidence to stop these guys, and in the real world this seems difficult. And even once caught, the punishments seem low, but that is the politicians/courts fault - not the police.

Glad you got it back. Hopefully it hasn't been damaged badly.
I just cannot fathom these types that are proud to be scum.
