I wish I was in the old Jeep as I would have happily rammed the f*&ker, the concerning thing was the total disregard for other people's safety and it was pure luck that no one was walking along the paths or they hit any cars. I guess that if (God forbid) they did kill someone it would not be classed as manslaughter or murder but a driving related fatality, I do hope the b$%tards ended up wrapped around a lamppost.
You would find yourself in jail while the scum gets compensation

The system is fked you work you get the book thrown at you

A friend of mine was around my area in the early hours of the morning (he's a taxi driver) and he saw someone walking down my street trying the car doors of every car one of which was mine. Naturally he got a good look and called the police. After 30 minutes they arrived and concluded the man......had gone. A full description was given but it doesn't seem to matter they didn't seem interested.

Lots of chatter on this via twitter and FB but it must be a real needle/haystack scenario trying to spot it. Wondered if it had been posted here.

It's a mates BF's car, it was the usual house entry scenario to steal the key so likely the same bunch of thieving scumbags.
I know naff all about stealing these (or any car-disclaimer) but she said to me she still has both keys but they stole the plastic one (whatever that means?), even if someone knows it's probably better not posting on a public forum....

Anyway, last reports were that is was spotted on Marchburn drive in Mastrick.

DIRTY LITTLE bdS!!!!

I live just north of Aberdeen, and a couple of weeks ago I was in bed and heard noises from outside, I looked out the window and here is 3 neds hooded up, balaclavas on, gloved up trying to break in to my car in my drive. I made as much noise as possible when I ran down the stairs, switched every light on my way, but by the time I got to the front door they had scarpered!!!

Called the police, and they were there quite quickly - 2 police cars and 1 dog van searching but no luck!!!!

It's crazy whats happening in and around Aberdeen at the moment!!!!

^Thats the latest one, thanks for posting up the pic.

Agreed, the only 'good' thing that may come out of this is that it appears to be a select number of people responsible, and with every car being taken people are becoming more and more aware of who the culprits are, although the Police must already know where to look. It won't be long before they get really badly hurt it would be safe to assume.

I've been more security concsious of late, locking doors even when in the house and placing keys out of sight, for cars in long term storage I've disconnected a few electrical bits and bobs so they won't start, I suspect (maybe foolishly) that these idiots are not technically proficient enough to actually steal a car without the keys and wouldn't know where to begin if it fails to start.

wonder how long before they nick the wrong car and get introduced to hospital food.

I'm also being more aware of security recently. Weeknights I've been boxing the Q5 into the drive with the Transit. If nothing else they'll make a helluva noise trying to move everything to get away/ reverse into the garage door to make space to manoeuvre out/ find two sets of keys to make-off with one car.

Q5 is slow enough that I'd be more inclined to let them away, follow at a "safe distance" while directing in the cops by staying on the phone to them until they caught up.

I appreciate that not everyone has the luxury of the second chase car. And I doubt insurance would be keen to pay-out for ramming your own car off the road with your works van, either

I wouldnt advise following - they have been seen to be armed with a machette type weapon in one case, just call the cops.

They have also been known known to try and flag down cars and in my case had my hand axe from inside my garage out beside them when they took my car.

you misunderstand... how long before they rob the wrong person as in the big shot dealer in the area or not very nice person that thinks its nothing to hurt people.

They may have a case as intimidation, there will be someone out there thats is not intimidated and uses a gun on them.
