Was my Girlfriends cousin's car. Bit of a mess apparently but I haven't seen it or spoke to him yet.

How are they getting the keys? Breaking into your house and taking them?

Why on earth do people not have alarms in their houses?!

How did they get your car Craig? The police in that link seem to be repeating the "lock your car and house" angle, I find it disgusting that these crimes are being looked at as "car thefts" where these scum are actually entering peoples houses to steal keys, that's burglary not car theft but of course that would put the crime figures up more and that would reflect badly on the new organisation wouldn't it?

Don't expect anything much from the Police. I reported a car broken into in Edinburgh last weekend, not mine, to be told it was not a reportable offence!.

Seems a good way to keep the crime stats down, eh.

Wifes certain she locked the front house door as per normal

But anyhow 4 of them were inside
as we sleep, wife heard them andthey were
Disturbed inside our living room, then having fled into the audi parked in drive.
safely

keys were on a key rack ,,am certain thats what a key
racks for, as far as we are concerned we were burgled
We still have there muddy footprints through the house.

This should not be watered down to just car theft

Annoyingly you are right, sorry to hear your news Craig, the point I was trying to get across was the fact that Police Scotland are being naughty and classing these incidents as car theft as opposed to burglary which should be viewed more harshly, manipulating stats? surely not?

Unless that nasty thing is bragging about the cars you've stolen, right?

People on here seem to be getting upset over legal definitions which the police have no control over.

Burglary doesn't exist in Scotland, so i doubt the police up here would ever refer to such crimes in that context.

From memory, for housebreaking to occur, there has to be some element of the security of the dwelling being overcome. Opening an unlocked door would not be housebreaking, neither is climbing through an open ground floor window. However if ladders had to be used to access an open window, or if an object inserted to open a latch, then that would be housebreaking.

However housebreaking on it's own is not a crime either. There has to be some other felonious intent such as theft or rape.

Given that these crimes are being reported as sneak in thefts then it would appear that people are continuing to leave their house doors unlocked.

I wonder what the courts will do with these two.

Does anyone know of the whereabouts of the original post BMW 335i?

I'm sure I saw it (distinctive wheels but different plate from H9WSR) in Mercedes Benz Dundee this morning, looked like the owner was test driving a lovely black C63 smile

Why?

The BBS wheels looked pretty tarnished, and I'm not looking for such a car.
