Stolen in Aberdeen: BMW 335i - H9WSR
Discussion
I'm sure GP aren't sitting back letting this happen but rather building a case to hang the feckers.
These thieves are stupid enough to think they're out smarting GP. They probably don't even realise that there's such things as detectives who are piecing all this together.
All we can do is protect what we have.
Garage our cars. Ensure they're locked.
One things for sure, if they really want your car and are quite willing to break into your house for the keys...it's only a car.
Trying to steal ones kids would be a whole different story and I'd only assume one would take the law into ones own hands. My lawyer helped me right this...

I'd certainly hope this is the case based on what has been shown on this thread alone. These thieves are stupid enough to think they're out smarting GP. They probably don't even realise that there's such things as detectives who are piecing all this together.
When the news is full of someone who has been arrested over what is esentially name calling on twitter (for another thread!) surely something will be done about these neds showing off stolen keys and cars.
Certainly they aren't doing themselves any favours, anytime any car goes missing now, eyes will be on these guys.
Update: 1/8/12
Car has been released by forensics.
General condition is not too bad on first glance, long light scatches down drivers side, all wheels badly kerbed with chunks out of sidewalls.
Interior is not too bad with a quick look - reeks of hash tho.
engine is running rough as a tractor - i suspect blown turbos from the noise, but cant move it yet.
Now is the next fun bit fighting with insurance, ho hum.
Re: the police searching, as already mentioned, when i phoned them and told them that i had been told the car was sighted dumped, they had 3 cars there within minutes looking in the area. cant fault that service, even if we didnt find it at that point.
Perhaps if everyone kept their eyes on the police website for stolen regs and discriptions, then looked out for them, that would be a great help. Its not like we dont all play spot the nice car anyway. Also report all sightings of suspicious drivers with hoods ballaclavas and face masks.

Oh and to show the power of spreading the word - try searching for the number plate in yahoo and google.
That relies on a few sites having the reg and words stolen written in text to provide good results = rare. I run www.facebook.com/itsbeenstolen and the amount that I'm requested to repost is alarming, and clearly only a 1/100th of what is actually stolen.I often google reg's when things are forwarded to me but often if stuff is sold on - the reg isn't listed - for obvious reasons. It relies on checking for specific parts in adverts and that only relies on Mr Thief knowing what he's fencing; cretins like these typically won't.
I wanted to setup a profile where any random people could subscribe and share info on these activities so any sightings could be left as comments on said postings,
but with idiots like this blatently out showing off and the cops not being able to give chase, is there a lot of hope?
