Hope someone got some good quality photos, my phone won't really do the cars justice. The 993 speed yellow targa and the riviera blue 993.. WOW! A good day out, Riverside then Calderglen. ETA - 51 cars was the total I believe.

I was going to turn up on Sunday but there was a torrential downpour in Edinburgh when we were thinking of departing so decided to give it a miss (targa top seals is next on the list of jobs).
Bit gutted when we eventually saw the sun appear on Sunday afternoon but the weather looked like it would not break.
However would be interested to see the pictures :-)

Guys
Can I throw this open for discussion? We had about 35 porsches at the Italian car and bike day on 12th August in the dedicated car park. There is a limit to how far we can grow the ICBD.
I know some clubs eg TVR, Aston, etc have events up here and sometimes struggle to get big numbers attending. If we were to make it a Supercar/Superbike day either alone or with the ICBD, do you think you would get big numbers? Get people from the NE and NW of England? We have 1/10th of the population up here and car population too. We will never get a national club meeting up here of any marque. The porsche clubs etc are all well organised and have excellent local groups. They could get members along if they wanted.
Our main issue is a venue. I have a couple in mind, but few can take 500+ and provide entertainment and 'drive' space.
What do you think?
Happy for all comments positive and negative!

Happy for all comments positive and negative! Paul, I've passed on an E-mail from Brian Wood from TIPEC/ PCGB as a contact regarding joint PCGB/ Tipec/ ICBD/ PHEcosse stuff. They are also interested in further joint meets. Dougie

Paul,
Think it would be a good idea to have the day organised by country so that a number of other interested groups would be able to attend. For example if you had a Brit section then sure Lotus, MG, Mogan etc would turn up.
I suspect the Lotus contingent would probably be interested as you have a number of members who have both Italian cars and Lotus's (or have lept in touch with the Lotus community.) Scottish Elise's and LEGS have monthly breakfast meets so I could suggest that we make one of the meets at Hopetoun house if you want whe the event is on (however a catering van will have to be there otherwise I would get lynched if there was no food van available :-) )
Must admit that I was going to turn up this year (had Ducati, Lotus and Porsche) but had other arrangements.
However it may be best having a little bit more variety than just static cars. Sure more people would attend if there were just more than static displays but appreciate that it takes more time to organise having various stands to keep the general public interested. Alford meet gets a lot of people attending due to the cars being driven and possibility of passenger rides. Just a thought?

Hi Douglas
I think we are hoping to keep it supercar so it wouldnt be everything. There are a lot of general meets and that is not what we are looking for.
There are some rare and unusual MG's which I would love to have along. I don't think anyone would argue that Lotus cars are not super cars? Likewise with Morgans. I would sell bits of me for an Aeromax! ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Anyway, back to the reply. We are trying to find a location where we can get cars moving. That is more difficult than it seems!
Please keep up any input.

Paul try the local kart tracks. kkk (kingdom kart klub) i know unfortunate name. and wskc in larkhall though crail would be a better track as its faster (for karts) hence not so tight for cars.
