Thought I would post up a short write-up of some work I had carried out on my car today.

First - the car - a 2012 Focus ST-3 Hatch in Colorado red, purchased at the end of September.

The car has been "through the wars" slightly since I purchased it, 2 breakdowns that involved recovery lorries back to the dealership, pushed into workshops when it wouldn't start and the 1st recovery involved the truck driver allowing my car to contact the ramps when offloading the car back at the supplying dealer. Had to get my front bumper corner painted frown

So - now that (hopefully) the root of the problem has been identified and repaired I thought I would give the car a good clean and protection layer in preperation for winter really kicking in. The other reason for getting this done was so that the paintwork could be throughly checked for any damage caused by all the shackles on the recovery lorries etc.

I had used Richard at RGK Detailing once previously when I got him to clean & protect my 2010 Skoda Octavia VRS so decided to contact him again. He offered to carry out a winter protection detail at my place of work and arrived at 9:30 this morning.

See the link below which SHOULD contain 80 pictures of my car before he started, during the work and after he was finished. Richard left just after 4pm today and I would have no hesitation in using Richard again (plan to get him round again to give the car a post-winter detail around April/May next year) or recommending him to anyone wanting their car cleaned/detailed in the central scotland area.

One quick picture of the finished car:

I am in no way related to Richard @ RGK, and only know him through using his services this time + once previously.

Totally agree, Richard and Gavin worked on my Subaru and Andrews FTO last year and they made a fantastic job.

They were at the Italian Car and Bike Day at Hopeton house this year too working on a blue Maserati for a competition winner.

Couldn't recommend them enough, my car has never been as clean since.

Thanks for the kind words Andy smile it was a pleasure again to work on your car, and ensure it is well prepped for the winter months ahead, I have added your car to my blog now with the complete write up, fingers crossed the ST serves you well from here onwards, and I will see you again in the Spring. smile

Title should read RGK, can't seem to edit it.

Had the pleasure of using Richard's services again on Monday this week, down at his unit this time in the Wishaw area. He had the car all day and carried out a thorough clean on the outside (he didn't touch the inside - I specifically asked him not to, as it wasn't really needing anything) and finished off with a protection layer for the coming winter.

Pics above were taken outside his unit.

Car was thoroughly washed, rinsed, de-tarred & decontaimated, clayed and dried. It was then given a once-over with the DA before a polymer protection coat was added. Alloys and external glass were also thoroughly cleaned. I could have went for a ceramic final layer but it was a fair amount more expensive & it is only a 2yr old Focus, not a supercar!

Anyway - many thanks to Richard for his excellent work again, I had been neglecting the car a bit lately but now the panels are super-smooth and read for whatever this winter throws at it biggrin
