We managed to find it following the notes on this forum so thanks to everyone! We were there in October 2013 so it wasn't misty but it was dry and very cold. It certainly is a special place. Lots of fun driving along the A82, especially with the RAF fighter escort.

Went for a run up there on Sunday - it's actually very easy to spot the exact point, 'cos of all the wheel tracks on the verge!

I reckon there must be several people a day that pose for that shot - we got a few knowing looks as we were setting up, though being the middle of summer (saying that, it was raining) must have helped with the tourists!

Is it a bit sad that I am thinking of driving from Aberdeen to that spot just for a few pictures... actually I say it's just a good excuse to take in some great roads!

A word of caution for those that do head up the road to Glen Etive, if your car is on the low side it's very easy to ground the car out on the numerous humps and bumps on the road, if you take your time the areas are easy to spot due to all the gouges in the road.

Bond drove all the way from London so relax.

Due to a huge amount of local theft in the Lochaber area recently Police Scotland have put extra Police in the area so be mindful of this when in the area. I drove from Lochearnhead to Fort William on a Friday night at 1am two weeks ago and spotted six separate Police cars.

Very true. My friend took us up there in his Alfa 159 and it was grounding in places.

Yes, my Panda was grounding last year. Some nasty potholes as well.

Yes, police are quite active but there's been a number of house break-ins, and theft of quite a lot of heating oil recently.
And A82 Rannoch Moor is a favourite for camera vans.

Back from the dead...

I've not even seen the film, but it came up on the Scotland's finest thread recently so thought I'd give it a crack today. Couldn't park in the actual spot thanks to all the deep ruts there now and the car being miles too low for them, so had to go a car length or two further forward.

Should really go and watch it now...

In general the littering and waste dumped is disgraceful at this time of year. Loads of crap round Loch Leven and in Glen Nevis too.

I am heading up north with a friend over from America who is keen to visit the Skyfall photo site. Those who have driven the road would you advise against it in a Ferrari 430 or is it ok if you take it easy?

I was along the road with the T350 with new suspension and it is slightly too low and it was ok but I was taking it very easy. You should be ok but take it slow.

Should be fine if you take it nice and easy, you can usually see exactly where you're likely to hit the deck as there will be other people's marks. My front bumper/undertray hits bloody everything everywhere, but managed along there OK with just a couple of scrapes.

Scraped the underside of my front bumper and mudflaps going along there. Worth it in the end. Just watch out for the big boulders!

Had to share this, what a day, what a machine, what a country!

This is as far as I dare go, too low for that road!
