M90 Variable speed limts & cameras.
Discussion
Does anyone know if the new speed cameras on the M90 (on the approach to the Forth Road Bridge) work when there is no limit displayed on the gantries?
Came down the M90 for the first time in many months, so hadn't seen the gantries, camera sign and road markings before. And I may have been a bit liberal with my interpretation of the speed limits.

I didn't think they were average speed, the lines on the road suggest just a traditional speed camera. And they don't work unless there is a speed displayed even 70, I've gone through them at a speed which should have set them off when I first saw them, luckily no contact from the authorities.

That's good news. With a little luck I won't be getting a 'Lucky Prize Winner' letter either.Gantry cameras on the M25 only used to be active when a limit was displayed, and not always then - they were single shot cameras, not average. That may have changed in the last few years. M90 gantry cameras are, I believe single shot and certainly, to date, they are not active when a speed limit is not displayed. At least, if they are, they're set to an extremely liberal threshold. I pass through there several times a week.
