Can someone confirm for me the stretch after the roundabout for Dunblane where the first camera South is up to Broxden services is a 70 limit, I sat at a sat nav verified 66/67 the whole way and I was passing everyone, they were all doing whati presume was 55, which panicked me thinking maybe its now a 60 stretch.
Yeah its a 70, I have done Glasgow to Inverness and back a few times in the past few months and am always amazed how many people I pass with the cruise set to 70 on the speedo. I thought the same as you the first time hehe

Yes you can just hear all those drivers "Some plonker passed me about 90mph he'll get banned for that" :-)

On similar subject came up from Wales at weekend with Cruise set at 70mph + 10% on satnav and amazed at how many cars barrelled past me at a lot more 85+

Brave nowadays but then again never saw a traffic car/Scamera van on either leg of journey

If I believe everything in this thread then someone I know should be expecting a massive haul of points to be added to their license going forward - VW Transporter van (gross max weight 3000kg) doing 70-75mph (68-73mph on satnav) from Perth to Glasgow on the A9... How long does the points notification letters take to arrive then?
They have two weeks to get you.

Bit worrying someone on here is driving on a dual carriageway without knowing the speed limit, lack of observation, or knoweldge.

The only reason I questioned it was because literally every other car on the road was crawling along at around 55, I was second guessing myself as it was a bit disconcerting!

BTW please keep on reminding all the rest of us real Scots how hard it is now the oil price has ....

Oh sorry, we don't actually give a st, having been there the last ten years or so.. enjoy your burgeoning Aberdonian enclave...

Hi, did you evet get a fine? Kinda worried, I didn't realise the average cameras were on now as I never use the perth to Stirling road ( i went all the way there and back). Anyway I sat about 74 all the way, and to make matters worse i only realised tonight the my vw caddy is only meant to go at 60 on a dual carriageway, I assumed it was classed as a car. I've no points at the moment, do you think I could end up losing my licence if I've been caught by them all??

At 74 on your speedo you were probably doing 69/70 GPS. You'd have to be going a fair bit faster to risk your license. 3 points is the most you'll get!

In theory if I've done the whole journey at that speed should i get multiple points?

I wouldn't be overly worried about it, as far as I'm aware nothing has ever come from it...

Someone made the point earlier in the thread that these particular camera's were able to read your number plate and define your vehicle type thus be able to know what speed your vehicle is rated for that classification of particular stretch of road - the evidence shows that this likely isn't the case otherwise my pal would have been nailed by all the sets of cameras on the way to and from Glasgow. (slopey shoulder mode on) Note that this is only my opinion and obviously I do not condone speeding blah blah blah... (slopey shoulder mode off).

See here for info on speed camera types and what they capture: http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-camera-types.h...
