A9 average speed cameras

Just reading the paper today, it says there are no speed limit signs on the 100 miles of A9, and as it changes from dual carriageway to single carriageway drivers are being caught, and can speed limits be erected.
There are certainly some signs - but they are few and far between. But they're not necessary over roads which are treated as NSL and don't have street lighting.

Are drivers that stupid, guess they are.
And many more have no idea HGVs and other vehicles have lower limits.

It's surprising how many don't know the NSL on dual carriage ways and single carraige way roads. And many more have no idea HGVs and other vehicles have lower limits.
But I was thinking, how many would know the HGV limit being raised on that road.

So we have some brain dead idiots on our roads.

There's a big sign up about the 50mph trial near Perth so you'd hope a few would get it at leastBut I was thinking, how many would know the HGV limit being raised on that road.

Evening gents, I overtaken a gaggle of cars that were travelling at 55mph this afternoon and when I overtaken I think I topped 100 mph max. I then safely returned to 60mph (slightly below in fact) with at least a mile before the next camera. Should I expect a nip in the post?

I think it unlikely.Edited by bananachips on Sunday 17th May 19:48
This is the new 'A9 problem' I've noticed.
Due to the trucks being limited to 50, and given how many trucks there always are, the speed limit effectively becomes 50 for everyone. Overtaking has now become a weird, drawn-out process of taking as long as you can by driving as slowly as you can, only going just fast enough to pass the truck so as not to put your average speed up.
Ridiculous system.

You can still pass a truck swiftly and safely. How is that going to get your average speed into points territory. You are worrying about nothing.Due to the trucks being limited to 50, and given how many trucks there always are, the speed limit effectively becomes 50 for everyone. SpeedPro is the best app I've found for the iPhone, displays avg, max and and current speed on one screen, and the avg reset button only takes one press.
Overtaking at any speed isn't a problem as long as you have something to track your average speed. GPS, Trip computer, Phone. Hell, a passenger could do it with a stopwatch, speed tables and trip odometer, but that would be cruel!
