I know of at least 1 oerson there from way back, and check the postcode - Definetely part of AC now.
If you go into the filing history, the 5th document down is titled "Notification of Arnold Clark Automobiles Limited as a person with significant control on 29 April 2022"I know of at least 1 oerson there from way back, and check the postcode - Definetely part of AC now.
Arnold Clark Ford here in Carlisle has had all Ford branding removed externally and is known now as "Carlisle Motorstore" yet they've only just (3-4 months) applied for planning permission to demolish the service/rental area and rebuild something new with improved use of space etc. No idea if they're keeping Ford though, doesn't look like it. A small family run Ford dealer ceased selling new Ford cars recently round here too, P&HM Ferguson of Hallbankgate, Brampton - a real shame as the buying experience, quality of cars and how genuine the staff are, means it's the very best experience I've ever had in car buying.

from inside the writing is on the wall and dealers know this, they cant continue to work with the manufacturers as the profit margins are collapsing.
Arnold have pulled away from ford and toyota and there are a few more to happen yet as discussions are well advanced. Arnold cant maintain the corporate front for the car companies without a lot of profit. so as he wont do that they are severing ties.
Firstford are owned by ford. and other car companies are looking to take inhouse. its the only way that they think that they can make it work.

As of the 1st July, Arnold Clark rebranded all their Ford dealers except for three, but these will eventually go too.
Trust Ford, part of the Ford group are rumoured to be moving into Scotland to become dealers / agents.
Are these rebranded Ford dealers still “official” Ford dealers that can undertake Ford warranty work/servicing?Trust Ford, part of the Ford group are rumoured to be moving into Scotland to become dealers / agents.

My usual Arnold Clark Ford closed down so I’ve been using another Arnold Clark Ford which is now rebranded.
I’m just wondering where I will go for Ford servicing/warranty work on a 2 year old vehicle?

Ah thanks for that.
I had seen the other company start with their ex sales member. Shame for a 120 year old company to finish off like that, but I can imagine the costs nowadays as a small outfit are hard to make ends meet
Getting Harder and harder, If not impossible, to buy a car from a small independent.I had seen the other company start with their ex sales member. Shame for a 120 year old company to finish off like that, but I can imagine the costs nowadays as a small outfit are hard to make ends meet
My last purchase was from Hardie Peugeot Larbert. It's now an AC MG dealer
Good luck to them.

Arnold Clark has added some Fiat and Peugeot sites. Fiat in Ayrshire and Lanarkshire from Parks and Peugeot in Aberdeen and Stirling. This is on top of Vauxhall Aberdeen and the Peugeot and Citreon Glasgow it added earlier. It had shown Citreon Aberdeen but this is now off the website so not sure

The Fiat site on their website is actually the Ford site currently, the old Dalblair Motors. Wonder if they are ditching Ford from here?colin79666 said:

Ford is ditching Arnold Clark. 750turbo said:
Yep I know, but there is no way that site will be solely Fiat, they must have other plans. Also Ford has always had a massive presence in Ayr - I really cannot see them losing it, so I would expect some other Group to make an appearance?
Parks would be the obvious choice one would have thought, given they've already got Dacia, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault and Volvo in Ayr, according to their website. So it'll be Lookers then?

Other way round. A director at one of the above named manufacturers told me AC fell well short of other dealers on just about every KPI other than sales. AC have been trying to call the shots for years but are considered difficult to deal with by manufacturers & are apparently not representing the brands nor providing the customer service in the way that is wanted. The manufacturers have tolerated it for years but with changing demographics & a move away from traditional dealerships to online & lower servicing requirements on EVs negating the need for extensive dealer networks, manufacturers can now cut AC adrift.Others will follow. Mazda was mentioned as being one who would sever ties within next 2 years & I can't see BMW & Merc continuing. I just think AC cheapens their brand.
I reckon AC will end up being primarily a Stellantis 'distributor' - 'All the st car brands being sold by a st reseller'. They've grown too big, dominate the retail market in Scotland, certainly the few times I've gone there they've been crap & I think the growth of EVs presents manufacturers with the perfect opportunity to dump their demanding gold-digger of a wife.
