As of the 1st July, Arnold Clark rebranded all their Ford dealers except for three, but these will eventually go too.
Trust Ford, part of the Ford group are rumoured to be moving into Scotland to become dealers / agents.
Confirmed so far are 'Trust Ford' for Aberdeen and 'Your Ford Centre' for Dundee - does anyone know of replacements for other areas yet?Trust Ford, part of the Ford group are rumoured to be moving into Scotland to become dealers / agents.

Today's news reporting AC was subject to a significant cyber attack in December. Customer's sensitive information has been stolen. It reads as if they've been slow to warn those affected.
If the ICO decide to act it could cost them dearlyI see that Macklin Motors have applied for planning permission for s Toyota dealership in Ayr.

Arnold now taking on BYD franchises with the first one at Linwood later this year.
Will be interesting to see how this goes. BYD are huge so I see no reason why they won't be successful here.
Was kind of inevitable as there's few other dealers in Scotland that can give BYD the sort of reach on entering a new market, but I think it's a shame as I know a lot of people who refuse to have anything to do with Arnold Shark. I'd have preferred it if they'd negotiated multiple contracts with smaller, family owned type dealerships. Will be interesting to see how this goes. Toyota & Ford dumped Clarks & I hear others are to follow. They'll be desperate to get some of the Chinese manufacturers on board. BYD won't entertain Clark's petulance though & once they establish a foothold in the UK it'll be bye-bye Clarks.
I'd be interested in something like the BYD electric equivalent of the Aygo/C1/107. From Arnold Clarks though? No chance!
Had my first experience of AC Mercedes today, polite staff but rather a CS total **** show from the start.
When booking my service two weeks back, I had to almost demand for extra work beyond the standard A service to be included - and that's work at my own cost (car requires additional service items when it turns 3 years old). The service booking person didn't seem to know this and had to contact branch to confirm. Once confirmed I was told someone would contact me with the costings before the car was due in. Nope, I had to chase and no-one really new what the additional costs would be.
Day before booking they confirmed costs - great - but then said the lube for one of the addtional jobs was on back order and that I would need another visit to complete that. Back order? Since I booked two weeks ago? Hmmm... then my appointment was moved from first thing in the morning to later that morning due to no courtesy car being availble. Ok, these things happen, but when I arrived the c-car was still not ready (took another hr to be prepped) and the service staff still didn't seem to be fully aware of the addtional work that was needed. Got it sorted out in the end, again, but good lord. There were also some other suitably disgruntled customers while I was there. This isn't difficult stuff, fingers crossed the actual work goes without issue.
Never had this with the local Audi, BMW, VW or Seat garage

That's if they do the work. Them shafting you without lube will be extra painful too!!!
Well the work has been done and the car collected. TBF they appear to have done as they have been asked - at least as far as I can tell - and the car wasn't washed as per my wishes. Short of getting the car on a ramp and draining the diff, all appears good. If they can just get ontop of the customer facing issues, it would fill people with far more confidence and reduced wasted time. BMR said:
After AC losing the Ford Franchise in Ayr I didn’t think there was to be another local dealer. However I’ve seen Parks advertising for staff for Parks Ford Ayr opening early 2024. Anyone know where this will be located.
Was down that way on Wed and it looks like it could be same site as construction work is underway ,looked like some fast charge stations being built .woodysnr said:
