I thought the BC motorhomes that have just left the site were a reincarnation of the previous business and nothing to do with Border Cars
BC Motorhomes weren't anything to do with Border Cars latterly I don't think, but it is Border Cars and fkface - sorry, Fusco - that owes me money. I'm STUNNED to see Suzuki have taken them on again as retailer after he shafted them... This is the courtesy car he gave me, that bailiffs were looking for whilst I was unaware, running about in it...

Any truth in the rumour that Peter Vardy is offloading a couple of their dealerships (Aberdeen and Edinburgh) to either John Clark or Arnold Clark?
There has been massive head office redundancies, sold off the MG branches to AC, all the car stores are closing apart from Motherwell.Yes, Arnold has taken Peter Vardy's MG sites at Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh Seafield and has taken the Aberdeen MG franchise. However in Aberdeen he has put MG into his old Volvo showroom on Wellington Road (vacated and previously up for rent after John Clark got the Aberdeen Volvo franchise instead).
Not sure what will happen at Vardy's old MG showroom at Langstracht- will it become an Arnold Motorstore? - or will someone else get it? Drove past this morning. MG signs are all still up but showroom and forecourt are almost empty.
Peter Vardy seems to have had a pretty turbulent time recently. From what I can see though the prestige bits in Aberdeen - Jag, Landrover, Porsche- seem safe. For now!

The AC website suggests Fiat/Abarth is going into Ford.
They have recently closed Leeds Fiat/Abarth/Jeep/Alfa and ex Ford in Strathaven and switched out of Vauxhall in Salford and Kia as well as juggling showrooms in Dundee and Aberdeen.
Yes loads of juggling in AberdeenThey have recently closed Leeds Fiat/Abarth/Jeep/Alfa and ex Ford in Strathaven and switched out of Vauxhall in Salford and Kia as well as juggling showrooms in Dundee and Aberdeen.
Hyundai has now gone into both parts of the old Toyota/Mazda dealership on Wellington Road
BYD has gone into the old Transit Centre on Girdleness Road
Mazda is in the old Ford Showroom on Wellington Road and Fiat/ Alfa/ Jeep is in the old motor store bit on the same site
Peugeot/Vauxhall are in the old Hyundai/ Motorstore on Langstracht. At one point Citroen was meant to be too but apparently no more. Still no Citroen in Aberdeen.
MG is in the old Volvo showroom which sat empty and To let until MG went in this week
The old Fiat/Alfa/ Jeep showroom on Whitemyres Place is now empty

I think (hope) Porsche in Perth stays.I believe that the Porsche sites are available separately to encourage sales.

Some weird stuff going on in Dundee. They have recently closed Leeds Fiat/Abarth/Jeep/Alfa and ex Ford in Strathaven and switched out of Vauxhall in Salford and Kia as well as juggling showrooms in Dundee and Aberdeen.
The old Tayford showroom on Balfield Road, latterly Arnold Clark Fiat/Kia has been demolished and Fiat, Abarth and Vauxhall are now in the old Ford/ Motorstore showroom on Balfield Road.
Meanwhile Kia has moved in with Mercedes Benz up on Kings Cross Road. Did not expect that!
End of an era with Vauxhall leaving East Dock Street after years as SMT, Lex and then Arnold

I bet John Clark is eyeing Aberdeen JLR for another Pentland siteI believe that the Porsche sites are available separately to encourage sales.
It's an absolute monster up there with a huge site and a ridiculous amount of stock that seems to have been there for a long time.
They still have my previous Rangey in there for sale for over £10k now less than they bought it from me in early October.
Fantastic spec too..
It's funny how the car sales set up has changed in Aberdeen over the years. When I moved up there were 3 main areas - Bridge of Don around Broadfold Road in the north, Langstracht on the west and the Wellington Road corridor. Plus a couple of outliers in Cults, Persley, Anderson Dr, King St, Mounthooly.
Now it's pretty much all about the Wellington Road corridor with a little bit of Langstracht.

Update. Just driven down Wellington Road and Citroen has now been added to the Mazda, Fiat, Abarth, Jeep, Alfa Arnold Clark line up at the old Ford/ Motorstore site. Signage on the showroom and flags outside too. I'm surprised it isn't alongside Peugeot at Langstracht, given this is the case in Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling but I'm sure there is some logic. Nothing about DS though.Hyundai has now gone into both parts of the old Toyota/Mazda dealership on Wellington Road

I wouldn't have though MB would be happy about that. They are wanting to go online where you spec your car, pay deposit and then balance and the MB hub in Dundee is the collection point.
They have 2 cars in the showroom.
The cost savings are huge...its most likely how the car selling business shall go.
Why have massive overheads such as a huge brand specific showroom when a car can be ordered from the comfort of your armchair without a the hassle of a salesperson who is your best friend right up to the point of getting the paperwork signed....
