Just bought an Abarth 500 and whilst it's tolerable for my 6 foot 3 frame, I wouldn't mind getting the seat lower. I've heard that this sort of thing can be a big job but I was wondering what sort of company would do this sort of thing. Does anyone have any recommendations? I believe that there are a couple of companies in China or Japan that sell lowering frames (lowers the seat by about 25mm which doesn't sound like much) but I'm keen to explore all avenues if possible.

Cheers,

Martin

Have you tried the abarth forum? They're quite a helpful bunch, I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Enjoy the car by the way, I used to have, great wee cars.

I haven't looked into it but the OH has a 500 and the driver's seat has the height adjust mechanism whilst the passenger doesn't - as per many cars. I'm just wondering if it might be much easier if you could acquire a LHD passenger seat. Possibly just parts, not the whole thing.

Thanks guys - feel really depressed about the whole thing really but it's my own fault. I didn't test drive the car beforehand and the reality is I'm now stuck with a car that I find really uncomfortable. It's a shame as it would be a great car for me but not being able to pull the steering wheel towards me and with a seat that's way too high, I'll have to suffer it until I can afford to sell it.

I'll need to look at my finance papers to see if the agreement is transferable (in the hope that I may be able to sell it on that way) but I'm not sure.

Idiot!

Buy a good bucket seat.

You'll sit lower, ergo should get better feedback via arse sensors, better support AND you'll gain extra headroom!

You can thank me later smile

(I'm not kidding btw, that's what I'd do)

Semtech in Kirkintilloch fitted Audi TT seats to my Fabia when I had one. They should be able to help.
