Thanks again for organizing the run yesterday Barry. I had a completely clear run over Dalveen and it was as brilliant as usual. I also had a great run on fairly dry roads from Abington to Selkirk and then home via Peebles. (I didn't try to stop for lunch in Selkirk).
Good to catch up with folk (literally and metaphorically!)
I saw the drone in the air and wondered whether it was one of the runners. Great location for filming. I was behind a lorry so you probably didn't get any footage of me.
See you next time.

Thanks to Barry for organising another great run! Some fantastic roads, I'm already planning to visit Dalveen pass in the next couple of weeks. This was only my second PH run, still getting to know everyone! For some reason I ended up leading from the coffee break, was hoping someone would pass me and take the lead as I didn't have a clue where I was going, just as well I had my boy with me and we quickly got our st together and managed to get us to Moffat where we seemed to get split up due to an arctic lorry!!!

Hope I didn't hold too many people up! I think everyone will agree at how well the wee 500 goes!!

This was my last run in the Corsa as I've ordered a new Golf R which I'm hoping will be with me for the next run!

Toogood
You wont be disappointed dude, got mine back in July, some machine. Didnt realise until the run yesterday what it was really capable of! Enjoy!
Thats what I like to hear! Mines isn't due to arrive until March. I've ordered mine in white with 19's, DCC, Discover pro, Reverse cam, Leather and DSG. Did you go for DSG?

The Copen, was the surprise of the day for me. Went like a stabbed rat! Just goes to show weight is the enemy of the fast car.

Thanks again to Barry for organising. I had a fantastic day out for my first PH meet.

Nice, some spec! the Pretoria rims are nice, wish I'd went for them in hindsight! What leather did you go for on the seats? Yeah i stuck the DSG in mine and the shifts are incredible, seamless. Great fun with the paddle shifters on the steering wheel as well. I've read a few articles that have said they've had better than the 4.7 to 60 with the DSG box and launch control, haven't tried myself yet right enough. I've read as well the waiting times are crazy these days on them, how long you been waiting for yours?

Hi which was your car in the Le Mans vid? The Tuscan parked next to the camper van?
Yeah I was with the wife in the Tuscan 2S. Le Mans Virgin broken and now hooked!
Nice, I was admiring that (bit of a TVR fan) but didn't realise it belonged to a Scottish PH'er!
Edit - Just noticed you're just over the border smile

Definite potential there - cheers Jamie

Yeah just need some practice and good locations..
Considering how windy it was it's pretty stable.
There was only the first bunch of cars not behind traffic that I remember and that was me setting up... Wasn't much point of filming cars stuck behind wagons ??
First time I've ever had the lense misted up too.
Nice, drones add a great new dimension to videos.
Some great footage using one when we were on the Ferrari Owners Club run earlier in the year:

Which car was yours at Le Mans? Presuming the 360 opposite me??
If so quite mad as we went on to the south and a good bit up the autoroute stopped for a sandwich, and as we were about to leave the 360 pulled in!

Yes the day one can shoot some awesome footage. Full 1080p. In fact I'm off out shortly to see what I can get from all the fireworks across carlisles skyline.

Yeah was in the blue 360.
Where did you head to afterwards? A couple of us headed down south via the Route Napoleon.

What's the chances of the only uk car I saw on the 450 mile trip to milau to be you the car that was camping opposite us! And for you to pull in the same services as us! (Saying that we prob stopped at a majority of them haha)

Went to milau for a night then stopped at the family place just outside st tropez, then we came back across route napoleon (which was awesome!) Back to Amsterdam via spa, Nurburgring, And Luxembourg.

Looked a good turn out and good selection of cars as usual Barry. Sorry I couldn't make it, but had to work. How did the Audi go, are you getting used to it yet?

Looking forward to a run early next year and plan to refresh the rear suspension in the rs over the winter months. I've had a few out of shape moments which could be tired bushes, my style of driving or the fact that it weighs in at over 1650 kgs. Might pop out for your festive run, but could be in the A3 oil burner.

Hi Jamie,

The drones really do add a lot, there's a tonne of my stuff on www.tartantarmac.com the video Mikey posted was actually my first outing with the phantom and i'm guilty of some of what I advise against below, although I've been flying RC heli's for a long time so not a total novice smile

I hope you won't mind me offering some constructive criticism on the clips you posted, try to plan your moves, sudden yaw shifts can be quite jarring along with fast tilts. Slow down the tilt in the software, I actually have mine at 5 which will provide a nice smooth tilt, Yaw just takes practice to get it slow and smooth, looks good though, practice is key smile

Hi john.
I am a complete novice at any type of photography tbh never mind videoing. Had the drone 3 months not and only just ran out battery on the range extender last time I used it, which kind of shows how much useage it's had.
I find the yaw control is very sensitive so need to adjust to suit that as you say, and the tilt is also very abrupt which I didn't realise you could adjust but then I've never looked at the software in worry I get well out of my depths.
I am going to get out in the lakes in the next dry weekend and get some practice.
Would like to be shown the full potential of what the software can do but I'm a bit of a technophobe...

If you are very new to this you should start simple, keep it in the back garden, get comfortable with basic moves, don't go high or far, learn to fly in atti mode without GPS assistance, get used to the yaw rate, no need to change any of the gains for yaw just get used to the tiny inputs required to turn slowly and smoothly. You will need to adjust the tilt rate though smile In tartan tarmac most recent video that's still being edited I had my first crash getting too close to trees, luckily it bounced of the ground on it's skids and went back into the air again, no damage smile

Seeing the Elise next to the 500 is quite astonishing. The Fiat passing what is a Supermini in the modern day.
