Hello chaps. A mate and myself are desperately trying to find a cheap manual rwd car for the purpose of drifting.I know it's a long shot but has anybody on here got anything worthwhile for a few hundred quid? Preferably Mot'd but a failure that's solid and almost roadworthy could be considered if it was close by.

Think Brad with the R8 had a 1 series for sale. Had a 3ltr six pot fitted...

I've been to thainstone a few times and I've never seen anything suitable. Pretty much just fwd hatchbacks.

A 1 series would be out of my budget. I'm talking about something for a few hundred quid.

Sorry.

But keep your eyes open for things like an Vauxhall Omega. Preferably with the automatic diff lock fitted and the V6. Had one of them in Austria, and despite how boring they look, they are great fun to go sidewise in. Long wheelbase makes them very controllable.

Or if you manage to find a Merc 190 from the late 80's, they are good cars to learn with. Most of them are manual, steering is solid and reasonably long wheelbase.

A short wheelbase might be great for cornering speed but harder to hold a slide.

p.s. A 90s 3 Series would be the obvious choice, but I am sure you already look for that. I am also surprised how well some of Japanese options keep their value. The MX5 is really the only one you might find for the budget.

If you're on facebook, join Asbo Motors, good for cheap crap. And Bradley's one was an E36 compact with a 328 engine iirc. It's sold though.
