I am looking for an indi that can take care of my old porsche and have heard good things about George Morrison in Glasgow.
I am going to pop over and get my car booked in so thought I would check out where it is using google maps/streetview before setting off.
It is apparently at 103 Farmloan Road but I can not find it on streetview.

Can anybody confirm if the garage is still about and if so can you can link to a streetview image showing where it is.

Thanks

George is excellent with old Porsche

Just make sure you agree what is to be done as he sometimes gets a wee bit carried away

Geo is spot on, the garage is just behind the car wash slightly back from the road.

Here you go..

It's behind the car wash - you can see the sign on the left

I only used him once. Seemed to know his stuff, but it took a long time to get booked in, is totally out of the way for the city centre, and it wasn't cheap! Peter Lorimar at Lorimar and Findlay on South Street is really good for old Porsches - recommended.

George is currently expanding his premises so you might get in quicker than before.

I got it booked in for next week. As mentioned, he is currently moving into a much bigger unit next to his existing location so he is tight for space at the moment.

Had a wee chat with him, seems like a decent chap.

I went to school with his daughter. She is gorgeous.

Not that this has anything to do with his ability to work on Porsches.

George is an absolutely top man and the perfect choice to look after your older pork. Looked after my cars for many long years before I moved further away. As good an indie as you could find anywhere.

His work is good. However he uses a random number generator to decide on pricing - get a quote before getting anything done.

Honestly, I never found this. He is not cheap, but you're not looking to have your car fixed by the lowest quote, you're looking for a quality service. He always talked me through every item on each invoice so I understood perfectly why I was skint. hehe

On this note, I've just had some VANOS work done at his and there are a few other things he did that I didn't ask for (brake fluid change and flush, coolant change and flush, removal of wheels and cleaning of hubs and centre bores) but I didn't mention as he was going over the invoice on Friday, I just paid and wanted to get away.

In hindsight I really should have said something at the time as I'm not pleased about it, any idea what I should do?

Be more careful before paying next time.
Don't see what you can do now.

Anyone contacted George in last few days ?

He looks after my 968, car was in last week and needs done follow on work, I've called every day this week multiple times and can't get an answer, which is never what happens normally.
Happy anything is provided by PM if preferred eg contact number.

He might be closed for the Glasgow fair holiday?

Bummer, does make sense, didn't mention it when I picked it up last week :-(
Worse still realised as soon as I got home they had created a further problem but didn't try phoning until Monday.
