Very sneaky bib A1 Edinburgh
Discussion
I've never understood why that stretch of the A1 from New Craighall is a 50mph for such a long stretch before it becomes 70mph. Dual carriageway with decent slip roads. 50mph seems painfully slow. I had naively assumed, until now, that the police would recognise that the limit was on the low side and focus their attention elsewhere. It seems I credited the police with too much sense.
I had to check my diary after reading this as I remember enthusiastically accelerating out of the 30mph last week...luckily it wasn't Monday!
A few months ago I was at a function at QMU and was surprised how short the slip road was when I used it for the first time. Unfortunately there are plans for the north side - part of the "deal" for QMU locating there was to create another junction on the other side to serve the QMU "triangle" (the land on the north side of the A1), so hopefully it will be better designed.
