I could stand and stare at that bridge all day, better than most art I've seen. Just love it

Fantastic piece of engineering.

I worked with Sir William Arrol's grandson (now in his 60's) a few years ago at an engineering firm in Glasgow. You could see he took after his grandfather; never stopped thinking about solving problems using engineering, and massively over-engineered anything he laid his hands on.

Remember going to the 100 year anniversary. Can't believe that was 25 years ago.

There today for the flypast. One of the greatest bits of anything made by the hand of Man on the face of our planet.

It is something special. Of it's time, and still working.

Congrats!

Absolutely.

Wasn't there something on the news a while back, where they were suggesting some sort of visitor centre, that included a trip to the top of this?

Maybe it was the Road Bridge, or was I dreaming!

I've been lucky enough to work on the Bridge. I worked on the lighting for it.
I have been to the very top, the bottom of the legs, in the legs etc etc. It's such an amazing structure. You'd be surprised how much it shakes when the big coal trains go over it.
The Bridge is amazing!
