My first SpeedFest 'competing' - a great day! Weather held out, some excellent cars and met a lot of nice folk (old and new).

Highlight for me was the drag (funny) car - mental seeing it spin it's wheels all the up straight! And that McLaren was FAST!

Haha, my misses on driving duties, I needed a competent driver to assist vehicle movements as I was piloting the white LP640.

Did you have either on the track? smile

Nope just static display for these two, there was already a Murci booked on and the 458 is just out the wrapper really and wasn't getting spanked on the mighty alfordring. Lol

Viper was a tad twitchy when trying to keep on the throttle around the bends! Only have half the boost mapped too... eek

It looked to be going well but it didn't sound at all like what I expected, what set up is it running now?

Goes like a train, until I hit the temporary limiter! Made 80mph and hit the limiter before the end of the straight. Have a new AEM Infinity 10 ECU. Running about 6psi boost right now, around 12psi once mapping completed. It was 500bhp NA so not sure what it'll be with another ~0.8 atmospheres of intake pressure...

I thought it was a really good day with some great cars and it was good to see it as busy as it was.

Thought it was poor that the commentator decided to give an update on the Grand Prix result though at around 1:30pm. Going by the collective groan from people round about me I clearly wasn't the only one that had it Sky +'d and was waiting to watch it at night time!

Everyone I've spoken to today has said it was a great event. I really need to make the trip up next year. The pictures on Facebook look great smile

Saw you at your Ferrari before opening. Was going to say hi but didn't get a chance. The Lambo was looking fantastic!

I mostly took photos of the cars on track, as there were large crowds around most of the static displays when I had a quick walk round at lunchtime.

First time I've tried to take a photo of a plane during an aerobatics display - very hard to keep the thing in the viewfind with an unpredictable path biggrin

The "Stag" getting escorted off site by "security" ;-)

Effortless wheel spinning by the Napier Bentley.

Lovely mcLaren

Drifters put on a good display:

Seconds before the tyre exploded taking the rear bumper off!

Murray's TVR smile

Stiglet's Porsche

Eric's R500

Matt's lambo:

Clark driving Tut's Elise sideways everywhere smile

And also driving Jamie's Z4M a bit sideways biggrin

Loads more photos on my website: http://www.flatoutphotography.com/gallery3/2015/SF... and also on FB (slightly higher resolution) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10311490... if you want to comment on the photos etc.

Some excellent shots John, good effort getting the plane!

Did you have a fluorescent vest on? Think I might have seen you down at the bottom corner snapping away, if it was that's an impressive lens!

That had been me biggrin

It's a 300mm prime lens. Gives wonderfully sharp images (can often read the smaller garage name on number plates!), but you really feel the effects of lugging it around all day!
