I've got an old Volvo 940 Estate in my garage up on the Isle of Skye
It's had a few parts removed, lights, radiator, turbo, brakes etc and to be honest the remainder is for scrap although the gearbox would sell for £90 and the wings, doors, tailgate, bonnet etc are good and the seats are leather if a bit mouldy.
I've been trying to get it removed for a good few months now and the only place interested, on a car take back scheme, only seem to be able to do a Friday collection and can only tell me late on the Thursday. I'm currently living/working in Yorkshire.
Is there anyone in the PH family that would be interested in collecting it. You'll need a trailer or flat wagon with ramps. I'm not expecting anything for it, in fact I've reached the stage of thinking about paying someone.
Ideally collection over a weekend.
Thanks

Not any use to you but I am just back from a tour of the Outer Hebrides and the rule over there seems to be to just leave the car / van / tractor whatever in your garden and let it rust away!!

Know what you mean but it's not a selling point if you think you might be moving......

Why not leave it in the garden with the keys and log book and let the collection people just take it away and post your bit of the V5 through the letterbox?

Done on a lot of the mainland too (says me, who has a car doing just this, having just cleared a boat, some engines and assorted gubbins to make space for it to be left).

Can you not pop an advert on Gumtree, someone would take it for free?

TBH I haven't tried Gumtree but countless free ads on ebay and the Volvo forum have brought forth a few "yes I'll have it" and "i'll pay you for xyz" etc but when the time comes they suddenly find a sick granny they need to visit or their mate with the truck/trailer has let them down.
It is 94 miles from Inverness, 90+ from Fort William

Sorry but I laughed out loud when I read that one......
I tried Broadford Metals about a year ago, he wanted to call and have a look to see if he wanted it but couldn't tell me when,
I think I recently saw an ad saying he'd stopped collecting though

Can't you leave arrange with a friend or neighbour to hand it over at short(ish) notice?
Or as said before, just leave it outside with the keys/docs in a safe place for them to collect?

Well, yes and no.
I think it'll need more than just me to pull it out of the garage and manouover it so that a truck can collect as there's a bit of a slope out of the garage but I'm thinking about it to be honest.
The sun roof leaks which is why the leather seats got a bit mouldy the last time and I supposes someone might steal it!
It's just the documents etc - you need all the paperwork sorting now with DVLA and would like to be there to see it go properly.
And as we are planning on putting the house "on the market", an old Volvo scrapper in the path doesn't create that "kerb appeal".

Having it in the garage won't be much of a selling point either!

Thanks, but tried that some months ago - via a friend at WHFP.
there was a Volvo Estate in Kyle Fire Station last year which gave me the idea.

Due to the state of the things Ive seen Mulligan metals running around in he probably wanted to see if he could actually use it as a daily driver.
