I saw that this big bit of hull had been loaded out on the Clyde and is headed for Rosyth.

Does anyone know the name of the barge?

I wanted to track it on " Live Ships" or something but I can't pick it out.

Don't know anything about the shop but my brother in law used to work for ALE who are the company who was moved it over the ground.

Showed me photos and videos from a lot of their projects and I also got to use one of those remote control thingies!

Thanks.

Do you mean it won't leave the Clyde to go round the top to Rosyth?

Any links?

Thanks. What's the name of the barge it's on?

I've followed a couple of the previous blocks on AIS and I've never seen the barge itself been listed - only the tug(s). It should be possible to find out the name once the tow starts.

The previous block went the long way round due to inclement weather, so this bit might well do the same.

Funny to think that accounts for 1/3 the weight of one of the Royal Navy's battlecruisers.

Hey, Chunkers, if you get up one morning and you notice it's not there while you're yawning with one hand in your Ys, remember and post back here. wink

I keep missing them moving the bits!

The Waverley goes by all the time but I never see those hull sections move!

Here you go:

Tug is the Carlo Martello. Looking at https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:2..., there's also the Boa Odin, also bound for Rosyth.

It's on the move - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west...

The story says it's going to be transferred onto the Carlo Martello
