Maybe they are thinking of extending the trams across the current FRB at some point?
Probably some sort of sleeper service from Princes St to Dunfermline? In other news, disregarding the incline over the bridge, would a train/tram not be more of a pin-point heavy load?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edinburgh_Tram_%28ve... - 56 metric tons and 42.8 meters long.

I was hearing the tailbacks were 11 miles at the Kincardine bridge today.
All the trains were jam packed and no more people could get on either.
It's going to be a nightmare for a few weeks.
I guess they'll need to work loads of overtime to get the new bridge ready as soon as possible.

realistic chance of getting steel ordered and fitted in three weeks = almost zero so I'd expect the delay to be longer than new year unless they have a boat load of gorilla glue on order when was the new one supposed to open?
Glasgow will make a killing on Christmas shopping.
End of 2016. They, by all reports, are on schedule.Glasgow will make a killing on Christmas shopping.
I hope the Ken-Doll look-alike Transport Minister actually puts forward a plan to help with additional trains, buses, maybe even a ferry, to help with the problem, or will the useless just wring his hands and tell us not to travel unless it's really necessary.
Here's a tip Ken, I don't think the people crammed on the Fife Circle train this morning were travelling for the sheer joi-de-vivre of it.
