That's exact;y what I wanted to know, thanks. Given my intended car only runs on '99 and can do about 160 miles on a tank driven reasonably conservatively, fuel is an issue.

Is the legal limit not 20 litres in a jerrycan? If so, I might struggle?

Anyway, enjoy the run OP, Mr Carters pictures are fantastic, hope the weather bodes well..
Thank you
What car is it that you have that does 160 miles to a tank? ( small tank or 6 mpg lol)

Watch out for stone chips. My brothers M5 was covered in them when he got back last year.

Maybe get some protective tape on front bumper, door mirrors, around wheel arches??!! Not sure how viable this is but i'd try something.
Really are roads that bad

If we were to remain at 50 mph and under where permitted would you say we are less likely to get peppered with stone chips

14 hours of sunshine per day and between 24C and 27C all week so far. Tomorrow looks the same... next week NOT the same. (Sorry!)

You never know we have seven days yet :-)

Honestly, there will be no difference. I've had S4, RS6, 911, Aston, Caterham, R8, M3, Lotus amongst others, and the most fun I had was probably in a mini.

Matters not what you drive. The roads are sometimes twisty, sometimes fast, sometimes bumpy, sometimes smooth - it'll even out.

Something that won't break down is my best advice wink It takes ages to recover a car up here.
I' ve decided to take my gen7 celica gt,as you say 'something that won't breakdown' :-)
2 days to go

Some nice pics there. I take it you had a good time.

I'm off to Durness ( I think) this weekend on the bike with a mate. Hopefully the weather is ok. Instead of doing the whole run this time, we have decided to go up the west side, to either Applecross or Durness, stay overnight and head back down the west side again as the east side is pretty mundane.

Johnny.
It was awesome already making arrangements for the next trip but this time we will add an extra day or perhaps two extra days :-)
