Our house alarm is playing up, and is now 12 years old. I'd like to update it to include pet friendly sensors and cover the separate garage.
I'm not sure about monthly contracts with the bigger companies as I don't really see what you get for the money.

I've previously contacted the company that fitted the alarm (based near Glasgow) to fix it, and the guy seemed knowledgable about what was possible to fit and the costs involved. I've now called them four times to confirm the quote and come and fit a new system and they've never called back so I've given up.

I'm looking for recommendations in the Aberdeen area, anyone good that's reliable and doesn't take the mickey?

Give I-protech a call, wireless PIR sensors can reach as far as the garage also has a night setting so pets and people can roam freely round the house with out trigger

and very well priced also

I installed a wireless Yale system myself. The starter box http://www.screwfix.com/p/yale-sr-330-yale-smart-h... plus the extra contacts/sensors I needed cost me c£700. Took me about an hour to work out how it worked and another hour or so to fit all the sensors and link them to the control box. (I am neither a tech nor a diy god)

I did wonder how hard to would be to fit a wireless one myself. I take it you would need to change the batteries on a regular basis?
