Looking for some recommendations for a friend who is looking to buy a Dax or AK Cobra Replica (Chevy Engine) and wants to find out how easy it will be to get it serviced / maintained. He lives in Dunbar so is looking for recommendations in the local"ish" area.

Howard Selby in North Berwick are a well-established operation, and I think they have experience with quick and unusual cars - I know they at least used to look after a couple of imported Mustangs in the past, for instance. Would be worth a call to see if it's in their wheelhouse - they are very good and very professional.

I would also recommend Howard Selby's. Ask for Stewart, he himself has build various different kit cars for e.g MNR's, Radicals,MK's,Dax and quite a few more. Very Very good mechanic.

Why can't your buddy do his own servicing? That's all part of the fun isn't it?

Cobra kit cars are "Fisher Price" simple to look after, especially with the superb mouse motor..

Couple places I would recommend with specialists in American v8 ect and servicing and parts won't be a problem.

Parts aren't a problem.. This is where I get mine, five days to deliver at better prices than the UK.

Sometimes I buy stuff just for the pleasure of getting exactly what I want, delivered fast at a very reasonable price! How sad am I??
