That morning was an absolute ball-ache. I usually get to work at 8:30am (Bellshill, travelling from W Lothian) and I arrived that day at 9:45am. They closed the Eurocentral road to lay new tar, but didn't put up many signs to warn anyone about this.

Today i went along the East bound diversion.
You go off at the M73 slip road, the 2 left lanes go down to the roundabout, which thankfully has 2 lanes to go back onto the A8 section.
Lane 3, is for the M73. It's sign posted.
It was flowing, but that's a Saturday afternoon. Not rush hour on a Monday.
Not done the West bound route yet.

I drove the diversion in both directions today: Westbound saw 3 cars in front of me in lane 2 panic and jump into non-existent gaps in lane 1, obviously not realising both lanes turn left at the 'roundabout'. Eastbound was slightly better, but still very slow. I don't see tomorrow morning running smoothly, luckily I commute to Edinburgh from Chapelhall so have no need to go through it.
What I did notice was that they have added another average speed camera just before junction 10 westbound (Glasgow Fort), so beware! The last one used to be at junction 8, which would see people creep up toward 60 by the time they reached the end of the roadworks.

Was a piece of cake coming in from Edinburgh to EuroCentral today. However, I then saw a media report that suggested that most people were avoiding the area just in case there was too much traffic. I reckon it'll last till Thursday then it'll be a nightmare.
Colleagues from EK indicated the new Raith junction was working fine.
From Glasgow over the Baillieston junction was a little slower than normal.
From Perth via the A73 and Airdrie was traffic as it tried to cross the M8.
All 'reasonable' so far, but time will tell.

I spotted that when they started putting them up, and wouldn't be surprised if they were to be honest, they need to recoup the construction costs somehow(!)Dr_Rick said:
I designed the drainage - nothing to do with the concrete. Time will tell as to whether they actually build what I designed, but I'm still quite proud of that project.
I know I've set myself up for some abuse if it floods, but it can't be as bad as the outside lane of the M8 westbound near the Cutty Sark rail bridge. That bit was regularly a small lagoon.

Hey, in my defence, I designed the drainage for the government, who then put it out to tender. So who knows what they're actually building. However, the drawings I've seen on the TS website still have my initials on them.That being said, there's supposed to be pumped drainage in the Raith junction to get the water out into the SuDS pond. Maybe they haven't turned the pumps on.
