Can anyone recommend someone to paint some valances, spoilers & skirts in the area? I'm south of Aberdeen if it helps.

No I don't think so. But painting is a funny one. Realistically, materials are the same from place to place and labour rates don't vary by THAT much. The big variable is time. The more time a painter spends doing prep the better the job. so a cheap job is usually worse than an expensive one. I'm generalising of course but my point is that although you might get a lower quote, you might not get as good a job.

kinghorn are meant to be very good but don't seem too keen on private work - and from what I've heard are very, very expensive. But maybe their work is representative of the price.

+1 for Warren at NE I have had a few bits done by him over the last couple of month and the work was excellent and tbh not much more price wise than some of the cheap and nasty places who I tried once but never again....

As said kinghorn are really good to but were groin grabbingly expensive when my mate used them

Only place I've used in Aberdeen was Graham Dawson body and paint in Tullos.

It was BMW who recommended them, they use them during busy periods.

It was only a set of side skirts for my Z4M, but finish was perfect and very durable, didn't get many stone chips on it over the years. I've mates who've had work done elsewhere and looks terrible again in a short time.

My wife got a brand new wing fitted and sprayed by NE Auto a good few years ago. Well priced and did it next day. Finish was pretty good, especially for pearlescent paint which must be tricky, but there was a small section that had dust\dirt under the paint. Not enough to bother her.

Only had experience of Kinghorn, other jobs have been homers by friends.

Expensive, very. everything they do is through insurance so they aren't fussed about private jobs. IMO they are quite snobbish, too. Don't really take you seriously (even through insurance) unless you have a decent/expensive car.

Haven't use North East but only heard good things, got a quote from them a while ago and seemed a decent lot. Lots of nice bits of jags, lotus etc kicking about.

I had excellent service from Gray and Adams in Fraserburgh with an insurance repair a few years back. They even provided a paint colour analysis and a sample on a little bit of aluminium. Two years ago I wanted to repair a couple of spots myself and asked G and A if they could mix some more. They did and when I asked how much it was "on the house"! They are expensive, but very good.

Bit of a thread resurrection. Any other recommendations for places on the south side of Aberdeen? I ask as one of my wife's customers, she's a P7 teacher, has carved a one word assessment in the paintwork that's attached to the boot of my Mustang. It's not quite down to the metal, so suspect a smart repair may do the trick.

No, they managed to misspell the word! Looks someone has been practising German.. All booked into Graham Dawson to get the boot repainted.

Ha, F- then, shouldn't be too hard to find the culprit!
