Just received my wheels back after 2 attempts at coating (they were not previously damaged or corroded) but the quality is poor - heavy spots, fish eyes etc. - there seems little point in trying for a 3rd time as the company obviously can't meet my expectations (factory finish).
There is nothing out of the ordinary about them - satin black finish

Can anyone give me a genuine recommendation for wheel re-coating? - Dundee/central belt area

Another hour up the A90 unfortunately but Marx Paint and Vehicle Center in Aberdeen have done a great job on two occasions for us. If the drive isn't an issue for you I'd recommend them.

I used 'EK Blast and Powder coating' last year for my mini clubman wheels, they done a great job.

Based in East Kilbride though. It took me a while to look at a few places and after a poor service from a local place decided to give them a try.

I used them 15 years ago and they were good then and my favourite mechanic still recommends them.

This morning I noticed a small poster tied to the railing at the 1st lights as you come off the Tay Bridge heading towards the V&A for a place called Peak.
Didn't have time to read all the blurb but they do wheel refurbs.
No idea if they're any good though.

EDIT Just looked them up and they're in Stobswell - Peak Alloy Wheel Refurbishment.

Which company?

I've personally used Damon at Wheel Coat (Leven) and also Ecosse Powdercoating (Broxburn).

Just to update the thread - I had the worst wheel redone at We Restore Alloys in Dundee and they did an excellent job - so the others will be going their way.
PH rules do not allow me to name and shame but a couple of people recommended the company that let me down so standards may have slipped over the years or I was unlucky (twice) frown

I know you are looking for someone more central...

https://www.abcoatingsuk.com/

Used these guys a couple of times as they are local to Aberdeen and they are great.

Rules are made to be broken evil

Real shame, because it would be good to build a community where these issues can be known so others don't need to go through it themselves.

Glad you found somewhere you're happy with biggrin
