Yup I have that same view right now lol I WAS due off the rig this morning but alas it was cancelled at 7.30. Sods law really if it had been me coming out we would have been made to stay at the heliport all day. BUT aaahhh no those lucky SOB's get to go home/pub at 7.30!!! Awaiting boozy piccies from them later. Hoping to get off tomorrow afternoon rolleyes Only going off to do a course in Aberdeen so I am not going to complain to much about it lol.

So glad I'm done with offshore life. Offshore for 10 years and now, never miss a single bit. Can't remember how its like working outside in these shitty weather now......

Ive been offshore for 19 years and I do get sick of it but then I think of the money, time off and that my job is usually quite varied and interesting and I think I'll just do it for a bit longer. Regarding the rough weather, the floating drilling rigs move about a bit but nothing compared to a boat, I was quite surprised at how much the large platforms that sit on the sea bed, rock about in very rough weather though.

Often seen sea states like that on the RFA ships. not too bad if you are sailing into it but across the beam, forget about getting any sleep for a few days and watch everything that isn't screwed down fly about the room.

Viagra the only way to get a decent nights sleep, it's like having a kick stand.

RFA Grey Rover. I believe this phot was taken in all places the Mediteranean Sea. Although about a fortnight later the weather was like this as we passed through the Suez Canal

Yeah these Semi Subs can fairly move about. I had two filing cabinets topple over the other night!! The good thing is they are now tied down and I can't get into them for info lol. I used to work on a Jack-up and they never moved. You do get a bit fed up with the motion when it's bad as you can't leave your chair as it will just take off. My hats go out to the guys in the boats!!! I feel sick just watching them by our rigs.

Money and time off is what keeps me here lol.

Drove down from ABZ to Glasgow/SECC for the Faithless gig, really good dry run, coming back was OK too. Powdering of snow this morning, and a half hearted effort of snow on the way to work. Wind dropped away.

Hehe - I was there too Richard - shocked i didnt see you . Crakin gig tho man. Stayed in the Campanile next door to the SECC. All very pleasant. Weather was fine - apart from 15 min blizzard @ midday sun on M8.

Often see the RFA girls berthed here in Leith (usually Wave Rider and Wave Ruler). If any of you guys pitch up here, give me a shout - happy to take you out on the town.

Wouldn't mind a tour out either to be honest - I have quite a flexible schedule

Got stuck in the snow on Sunday driving back from Skye on the A87. Had to turn back and attempt the A890 instead! Mind you that was because a Citylink slid off the road and blocked the rest of it with his arse. hehe

This is just as unbelievable beutiful sunny day about 16c in Moscow today. Last year at this time it was still -20c with ice and snow everywhere! All the tarty pieces are getting their mini-skirts (nee pelmets) on and strutting their stuff, most upsetting!
