Despite a typically grey and drizzly morning, today's Top Marques session attracted some interesting metal - ranging from a lovely Porsche 911 3.0 Carrera to a rather trick-looking SEAT Leon racer.

The session started off dry, but gradually got wetter as a clouds enveloped the track - the resulting difficult conditions culminating in numerous spins and an off from a Mitsubishi Evo - thankfully, all involved were unhurt.

Below is a selection of my photos from today - I started on the pitwall, eventually gravitating around the track - and please feel free to comment and critique. Drop me a line if you want more details about any of the pictures, or if you'd like to see photos of your own car.

Cheers,
Iain

Good looking pics Iain, unfortunately my car isn't ready yet but got the engine/gearbox in and running, made an even bigger noise than before, so it won't be long now, hopefully MOT next week. It'll probably rain from now on!!

Sounds great Tim! New engine, eh? What figures can we expect from it? And have you stuck with the G-50 'box or is this a different unit?

Fingers crossed for the MoT - hope all runs smoothly. Also hope that the weather becomes all summery - isn't there a 'heat wave' predicted? All bodes well for a dry Knockhill - although I'm beginning to wonder if such a thing exists!

The engine should be rated at over 650hp but won't do that until run in and the timing is reset. The box is still a G50 but I've installed a new 5th gear ratio from Powerhaus in the US which should eventually give the potential for 200mph [if I've got the balls to do it].

I'm sure I did - although whether they're any good, that's another story!

I'll have a rummage through the photos and post what I find.

Jamie,

Had a look through the photos - and discovered that I have only three of the Exige! Upon closer inspection, numbers one and two were quite poor - my panning was not as fast as your driving, and consequently left a big orange smudge across the frame.

Number three was taken on the pit straight, and while it's not as sharp as I'd like, it goes some way to capture speed. Hope you like it, give me a shout if you'd like a high-res copy.

Note to self: must try harder next time!

Cheers,
Iain

Iain, thanks very much for posting the pics. I was there in the green Carrera 3.0. I have only ever been on track twice with it, and have never seen a picture. Looks not bad for thirty years old!!

I really like the 911 - it looks incredibly original, and very clean! Here's a few more images - let me know what you think, and if you want copies.

Regards,
Iain

Colin,

I managed to get a pretty good capture of the Elise just as you were going onto the Hislop Straight. I'll let you see a sample when my photo host starts playing ball! Sorry to keep you waiting, it should be on here by tomorrow.

Iain
Colin,

I have no idea why the image host is playing up, but I'll try a different one and, fingers crossed, the picture will be up tonight.

Sorry for the delay!
