Seeking advice on potential car purchase
Discussion
Have you thought about getting 2 cars for that budget ? A winter / bad weather runabout for a couple of £k and then spend the rest on something a little more fun ?!?!?
Its also handy to have something comfortable / economical for longer runs and it helps keep the miles off your pride and joy!
Just my tuppence worth !
Cheers...

Thanks folks for all your responses some solid advice there.
I have kind of resolved this issue now with the purchase of a scooby sport as a daily driver and now on the hunt for a tidy Skyline GTR or GTST as the "fun" car.
The money will be just sitting in the bank and with the purchase of the scoob i can afford to sit back and wait for the right car at the right deal to come up.
Thanks again for all your assistance

maybe you've decided already but, for what your sounding out i wouldnt rule out an S2 (2.2turbo quattro) get these in coupe shape for some kudos. The RS2 (porsche tuned) was only ever in avant form as in coupe was competition for the porkka, @ 315bhp is no slouch.
The S2 engine is really tunable and capable of galactic miles, i know a few that are over 200k. most are mid-low 100's. Standard form is either 220-230bhp (two engine models 3B or ABY) its a 5 cylinder as well and the note really is immense.
If you want to go back a bit more go with stiglet and go for a pre 90's one a 20v(t)RR, VERY thin on the ground, but for driving fun its a better comaprison to the WRX scoobies as its rally bred, the S2 isnt.

First of all what is your budget?about 6k
Will you keep your Z3? No
Are you looking for a diesel or petrol sports motor? not really too fussed
Do you want new or used? deffo used
Do you need a car that has warranty? nope
Do you want 1 or 2 cars? happy with 2 (actually it would make 3 lol)
Are you planning on using on track? Not sure, prob as my confidence level goes up yes
I have just bought a scoob sports as daily driver/winter car so this other car is for fun only
