Yup - the Sprint Championship circus reappears at Alford this coming Sunday, courtesy of the Grampian Automobile Club. Contact them via the GAC website if you want to marshal again.

A full calendar is on www.scottish-sprinting.co.uk.

Not me - Broomsticklady should have the Broomstick out again, now that MH Engineering have got the engine properly located. My next outing should be Kames in August, when I collect Basic Instinct:

Not a G4 - tho I can understand why you'd think so! That's a G22 a much rarer beastie and if only I knew how to get photos onto PH I'd post one ... Doh!! But I'm sure the G4 man will be only too pleased to have an excuse!!

As for Kames it's a great circuit, but a long way from Aberdeenshire unfortunately - in fact, my only regret in moving north from the Central Belt is it's further away from Kames, which is in a small village called Muirkirk in deepest Ayrshire!! Worth a trip if you fancy a long run tho, a really good spectator circuit, good catering (well filled bacon rolls to die for!), friendly chat (as everywhere!) and if you do venture down on August 4/5, you get to see the G22 in action in Scotland for the first time in a couple of years!!

This is the G4 - if Carlsberg were to build cars, they would build this...

I suppose we are all entitled to our opinions about Kames it is a good spectator course but for various reasons I shall probably not be driving there at all this year. yuck

I like Kames, despite having an 'off' which resulted in the contents of my sump (well not my sump the car's sump) being deposited throughout the pit and me having a major clean up job, but I like the fact that it has some changes in elevation and blind corners, would be nice if it was a little wider though and less severe kerbs.

For those in Aberdeen it is easier and quicker going to Kames than Golspie, but I have yet to find a good convenient place to stay close to the circuit.

If anybody out there wants to help (even if its for an hour) with the set up of Alford for Sunday we will be there on Sat 14th from 9.30 onwards. Also if you would like to marshal then contact Chief Marshal John Bruce at JD Motors on 01464 821151.

Meeting on, but only one practice run in morning, with two competition runs in afternoon. Paddock unusable due to rain, so moved to other side of complex and it will take longer to get cars to start line. Entrants should have emails detailing new arrangements.

Predator is on the entry list - let's hope it behaves better than it did on the start line at Doune for the Top12 - I don't think my nerves could cope with another incident like that!!

There are static vans for hire at the caravan site adjacent to Kames. The best hotel (i.e. one that is up to Broomsticklady's standards...) I can find in that area is the lochside hotel (www.lochside-hotel.com ). There is also the Dumfies Arms in Cumnock (www.dumfries-arms-hotel.co.uk ) and there is a Travelodge of sorts on the M74.

Of sorts covers it, stayed there once - it does not have a drinks licence eek

Have tried the Dumfries Arms, it was OK, also Abington Hotel, it was interesting, the place at Sorn, it was OK. and the hotel in New Lanark, it was good but just a bit too far from the track, haven't tried Lochside yet that will be one for next year.
