Chaps,

Looking to draw upon your wisdom......

I am soon to depart on a trip from :-

Glasgow to Fort William
Fort William to North Skye
North Skye ( via Plockton & Applecross detour) to Fort Augustus
Fort August to Inverness

Whats the chances of getting decent fuel from after Fort William

Thanks in advance

There is no decent fuel after Glasgow not V-power anyway until you hit Inverness. A couple of trusty bottles of octane booster should do the trick though

What is it you drive? I always run the M5 on V-Power, but recently I had to fill up (from empty) with 95 RON, and to be honest I didn't notice any difference.

Every time we go north with the quattro owners club we always get 98 octane in Ullapool. That was in October last year!

There is SUL available on Skye, and most of the time in Ullapool as well. As long as you aren't caning it everywhere then you should find a couple of tanks will suffice.

At this time of the year, there's lots of tourist traffic on the roads, so overtaking opportunities can be quite limited which has a hugely beneficial effect on fuel consumption!

I got nearly 30 mpg last week with the family on board!

On that route it's all rubbissh fuel apart from Skye and Inverness.

If you see this daft sight on your Applecross leg, wave, as it's me and my mutt.

Great stuff guys and exactly what I suspected....

Car is a tweaked 02 WRX running on an Andy Forrest Ecutek map for V-power.

Millers OB and a light foot it is then !

LOL at JohnS - I dont understand what mpg means ?? Hope the Spec D is nicely run in now !

I think the roads will be hideously busy but c'est la vie

Thanks for the advice folks

Got some Millers OB from the Millers Tyseal base in Tullos, Abz.

I used to get 10 bottles for £25 but was hit for £20 for 5 bottle today - not too "purdy".

Just as well it's a one-off.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Maserati wink and a dog with glaucoma biggrin
