Sounds like a grand weekend had by all. A dose of fiendish flu meant I had to scratch on Friday. Thanks to Anne for tearing up the cheque at such short notice!

We were worried about you when you were a no show. Tried to get a number for you to check everything was ok but failed.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

See you at Golspie (maybe).

Cheers,

Eric smile

ERIC - Thanks for concern. A lot better now. Nothing dramatic - just thumping headache and unable to breathe or swallow - a bit like that Friday night at Lossie in fact!!!! How did your duel with Lenny go? I take it Drew cleaned up, but did you manage second?

That may not have happened at other events.

Agreed - in fairness it happened to David and I when we scratched from the EACC Kames, but other's who shall remain nameless aren't always so helpful ... says she thinking of Knockhill...

If you had said that on Sunday, I could have popped along to work and got one for you - would have taken me about 25 minutes round trip frown

Moral of the tale - next time ask! I am sure that Wallace Menzies has a laptop for the Firehawk systems, so he would probably have a serial cable?

I kinda simplified that a wee bit, new laptop, no serial ports, usb to serial cable comes up as Com5, software only offers Com1-4 and software is bespoke.

I'm actually scunnered because I've been awaiting/promised delivery of a spare box since God was a boy.

frown I could have easily went for a laptop and serial cable if you had the software to install, or copy via USB drive. Time to really push for s spare box, the parts to make one yourself or look for alternative options.

I think that the happy faces at the prize-giving on both days - despite the changeable weather - was the best indication of just how much all the work done by GAC to get the hill ready and to run the event is appreciated.

I would have to say that, as CoC, GAC made my job very easy, so a big THANK YOU from me to all the GAC people who made it happen. All I had to worry about was when I was going to find another excuse to use the course car - and by the way, respect to those of you who drive those things in anger - you do know that you are nuts, don't you?.....

Thanks to the small band of helpers that made it to the work parties and the officials, marshals etc. for a great weekend.

P.S. I have just discovered I was only getting about half throttle, and probably been like that for most of this season frown

To be honest probably didn't make a big difference (only a few hundredths wink) and Fintray, but explains the lack of speed in the higher gears at other events such as Lossimouth, Alford, Boyndie, Knockhill, 3 Sisters, MIRA, Anglessey, etc.

That might explain the misfire - 'suggest you switch from organic to fully synthetic smile
