They had a red Makinen for sale on ebay and I asked a couple of questions about it, someone called me to discuss a possible purchase and it turned out that they did not even have the car!!

They have (or had) a Cerb in the classifieds. Not the most sell-abe colour though....

Losing ones livelihood is never a laughing matter and I feel for the innocent parties involved in this.

However, on several occassions I have approached said dealership to enquire about a car for sale, only to be asked 'how old I was son', whether I could afford the car in question or told in no uncertain terms, that unless I could give them a [ridiculous] deposit straight up, they wouldn't even entertain me.

Now don't get me wrong, I am in my mid twenties, but a spotty little oik I am not. Secondly, these guys suppl[ied] fast Japanese cars aimed squarly at the younger market. Personally I found their quality of service disgusting and told them so on the last occassion that they insulted me.

I have also heard several rumours about non-existent cars and dodgy service.

As they say, what goes around, comes around.

I for one wont miss them.

Schnell, My experience exactly.

very unfriendly on phone and told a test drive was no problem.
Arranged with my Dad to go visit, 45 minute drive (not unpleasant in the GTB mind).
Arrived to discover the 'Mint' and 'stunning' R32 GTR was a total shed, had a soaking wet boot, perished door seals, worn to metal steering wheel and gear stick.

Asked about test drive (wanted to get a feel for what an R32 GTR drives like) and was told it was not registered. Then asked if I wanted to buy it that day.
Eh no.

I went in on Tuesday night to get fuel and they were all shut up, almost had to coast down the hill into Stirling to get fuel ! Didn't realise that he was such a shonky character ! Please don't build an Aldi on the site !

Have to agree with others - unpleasant and unhelpful manner on the phone which put me off pursuing interest in a car....

Bit misleading though - the OP said the car was bought from them a couple of months prior, so that's probably what the ebay ad is all about.

Aye I did notice that, but it's a bit poor that they left the car outside to be stolen then waited 3 days before phoning the owners.

Might be a bit 'suss' that they managed to make off with it in under 10 seconds too - perhaps they had the use of the keys?

That was the R32GTR looked at. No way was it as low miles as they stated. No way worth the money they were asking.

Why would anyone set up a business with that name now?

Maybe I should setup a health store called 'Shipmans'.
