You do indeed biggrin

I doubt the NESCAMP idiot is right though, more likely someone who'd been flashed and was worried about a fine!

Total speculation of course, but my guess would be that if the guy was setting it alight at 4am, he'd probably been flashed in the early hours of that morning, when that stretch of road is perfectly safe.

It is a really bad section a busy times, but the better solution would be a temporary 50mph at those times, and do away with the camera.

But then that wouldn't make any money...

You're dead right, the only accidents I've ever seen there have been when somebody has pulled out of the Kingswells (or Marshalls) junction in front of oncoming traffic - and that traffic is usually travelling at below the speed limit. A speed restriction would make much more sense but, as you point out, a whole crap-load less cash for Mr Darling.

Robbing bastids...

Yeah, it's a totally inadequete junction for the volume of traffic that uses it as a shortcut in and out of Dyce, not even a hint of sliproad.

But it's not like the people in charge of our roads have half a brain to rub together. As long as it cuts speed and co2 (the new speed), its the perfect solution. Especially if they can do it with a machine.

drove that junction for 3 years, one of the worst about. and the camera, will not make it any safer... but did raise a grin as i drove past the black charred remains.
